When I was surfing internet this morning, z10 alerted me about battery level below 10%. I didn't turn it off because I was on my way to home. I thought z10 (st100-1)) should hold up and I'd charge it when I was home. I put z10 in my pocket and walked to my car. When I got in my car, z10 was off .

After I charged my phone at home, everything is normal.

    I'm using OS 10.1.0.4543 .

Could you tell me if you did a security wipe after you installed .4543? I have this theory where, for 100-1 devices, security wipe is affecting the calibration sensor.

It's a safety feature to keep your phone from a forced power down and possibly corrupting files if it was in the middle of something. IOS and even laptops have this feature.

This is a built in feature in OS 10.1.0.4543.Z10 will automatically shut down when the battery level is below 10%. I can confirm this because it happened to me again 2 minutes ago while I was playing Asphalt 7.

Z10 displayed a message "turning off device" and it turned off automatically without my intervention.

really? that means we can only use our phone until the battery reaches 11% then, once it hits 10% then it is off, man.. i won't install the .4543 OS then, i'll stick with the .4537.

Built in feature? I already have it since the OS 10 era

My Z10 will turn off once it reach 5% and I don't remember setting it that way.

When I upgraded to official 10.1 is still have this feature too

Now I'm on a leak OS 4543 and still there so I don't know if it is a new feature unique to 4543 since I already have it since the beginning haha

I would prefer it turns off radio when battery below 10% rather than turns off the phone.

Not sure will they implement this feature in 10.2? I kinda miss this feature on my Pearl.

Mine is worst, since yesterday Z10 shuts down at 90% after I've tried the 15 minutes charge recommended by someone in this forum. It started to shut down 74%.
I'm frustrated by That battery meter problem .

    I have a STL 100.1

I had my phone in perfectly working with out turning off the device when the battery indicator was red. For a fact I was happy as I have been out on work and dint carry my charger neither I had time and it lasted up to 5 hours. But days passed I felt something is wrong and I noticed the phone switches off automatically when it is near 20% battery I believe. I will do a factory restore and check on it!

Mine shut off for the first time last night while I was writing a SMS. I got the 10% message but I thought I had a few minutes left. Within a minute it shut off. No warning that it was shutting down, just went off. I'm ok with it since I just charged it when I got home. It lasted all day btw.

Mine does the exact same thing since yesterday but I have not tried the restore.

Please let me know if it solves the problem!

It's seems to be an issue with the stl 100-1 users, some (like me) even have issues where it won't charge fully but till around 80 something percent.

If possible don't ever install 10.1.0.273 (10.1.0.1720) which According to many users starts the issue with no way to undo it).

Please note: I may be completely wrong.

Mine did it for the first time yesterday, but normally I always charge it at night but couldn't find charger the previous night. Using STL 100-1 with 10.1.0.273.

It just happened to my Z10 and I wonder if there's a way to change it not to turn off when battery level is below 10%. My Z10 is STL100-3 and I'm on the leaked 10.2. I don't recall having this feature when I had 10.1 on my phone.

So I charged my phone to 22% and figured I could use it for a bit and charge it to full later. After 5 minutes of using it says level below 20%. That's fine, but then after another 5 minutes it said turning off device and turned itself off! Could it be the battery is no good anymore?

Hi, I use to had the same issue with my Phone the solution ( it really works). Let your phone die and remove the battery and sim card for at least 2hours. Then put all back and press the power button for 10 seconds then connect the use cable and at the end connect the charger to the wall you will see that your phone now turn on at the 3% that means that your problem is solved. Try this I just did yesterday because my phone shutdown at 64% I found this solution on the. "Z10 turning off at 30%" post. Good luck

It has happened to me too.
Just having a message popping up (having your phone in the pocket, instance) it's easy to miss the initial warning(s)!
I'd much rather have the phone warn me "Warning: Will shutdown in 1 minute..." or similar, giving me time to finish what I'm doing.
