Bedside mode - once alarm activates, it snoozes if you selected that option on the menu, for however long u selected, also option for no snooze.
Regular mode - once alarm activates. Option of dismiss or snooze.
I think there is a difference so that presumably you use bedside mode while sleeping, there is no dismiss to prevent accidental dismissal if alarm, when u r looking to hit snooze.
And when not in bedside mode, perhaps u r using it for an alarm other than for waking up, therefore, gives option to dismiss alarm.
No difference if plugged in or not.
My thoughts for what it's worth :)
