Are BB10 OS updates on a Telus phone dependent on Telus or are BB phones are getting updates from Blackberry automatically?

    Wow $200. Sweet.

I think the list for the phone was $600 when it was released.

The official updates are definitely based on your carrier -- for one of these devices, you'd get an update when other Telus customers do. However, there are the "unofficial" options. I'm with Telus, and I can't remember the last time I was on the official Telus release.

Sorry you missed out. On the other hand, it shows that there's a demand.

Can't believe ppl aren't jumping on this deal. Is it cuz it's Telus or cuz it's locked?

What's stopping you from popping your Telus sim card in one?

Nothing. From Telus Web site you either have to use a prepaid sim and active online and choose your phone #. Or use your current Telus sim. Have it unlocked for $20? I will find out Monday when mine arrives.

According to terms, you can't buy it without activation. As to activation and canceling, probably but I don't know.

Great deal since I still owe $320 on my Telus Z10 and have 22 months left on my contract. Plus I had to pay $150 to get it back when it was first released

If it's prepaid, go on the $7/month plan, then cancel.

Although I've bought a Telus prepaid phone at Future Shop before. They just gave me the phone and a sim to use with it. Never used the sim, unlocked the phone with a code bought online (for an HTC Amaze), and used it in the US with T-Mobile...

Shouldn't the situation with the Z10 be identical?

I feel ya. I spent $150 up front on launch day, plus 500 to be payed back over 3 years on Telus in my $75 per month contract. 199 prepaid stings a bit, not going to lie. Oh well, it always happens to one extent or another.

I looked it does show reserve but when you click on the product that option goes away.
Do you have to reserve in store?
