I'm using a Z10 (STL100-2 LE) since march. It runs 54+ hours with normal/light use and ~18 hours with heavy use on .1925 with 1899 radio.
    Impossible 18hrs

There are what are called LEAKS available. They are OS versions that have not been officially released by BB but somehow folks find them and make them available. In this case, there is a FULL Leak 10.2.1.1925 that contains a working radio component. Well, someone found a somewhat newer, somewhat different RADIO file (only the radio). It can be sideloaded over the 1925 Leak and only changes the Radio Version. Some folks find it works better or uses less battery resources.

Do you have to reload the whole OS?

No just sideload the new radio file. It copies over what you have and you don't lose anything. It will help battery life a bit.

    Guys, really.

1926 radio is ok with STL100-3 only!

At least I get that image when I read responses.

Stl 100-2 should stay with 1899 radio which is already in 1925 leak for thos model!!!

Wow! Don't see this very often. Do you have an extended battery?

Go into settings, Security and Privacy, Application Permission and make sure that you don't have applications running in the background using up battery. If the can't be turned off in permissions I delete the App. No problem having at least 50% battery at the end of the day with radio that came with leak, though I will download the new radio.

If you have BB Link ON through WiFi and Diagnostics (in Security) to Blackberry ON in your settings, turn them both off. It's improve your battery life immensely. It did for me (on 10.2), and on my wife's and daughter's z10 (running the 10.2.1.1925 leak with the 1899 radio)
in some areas (with bad LTE signal) it's better to keep Wi-Fi on, because the phone will always search for a better 4G signal. and some phones aren't able to switch to 3G networks (like AT&T STL3), so with the constant 4G searching it drains the battery like it's nothing.

i also found it hard to believe, especially with "normal" use. my phone wouldn't last 54 if i even just left it on my desk for 54 hours, it'd probably be dead by the 20th hour with NO use.

You started off with your own experience of poor battery life on -2 with .1926, then wondered if it was only meant for -3 and now you state categorically that it *is* only for -3. Do you have any evidence or has this been discussed/tested elsewhere on CB?

I have respect for your own experience of your phone but not so much for such strong conclusions if they have no evidence to back them up other than a sample size of one.

I've been using .1926 on my -1 with no real noticeable everyday use difference to any other radio but I am switching to a new -2 and wondered if I should put .1926 on or not (with the .1925 leak, obviously ).

What is your heavy use? I have never got over 6 hours normal use which is lots of BBM, email, skype and WhatsCrap. Only time I get over 6 hours is at night when it's plugged in charging and I'm asleep.

But so what, I'm always near a power source and have a solar charger for when I'm not.

    .1925 with .1926 radio on -1

I would second this quote. I have had the 1926 radio on my phone since January 6th, and I am a very heavy user, and the battery life still sucks. If I can get 8 hours during the work day(on WIFI) I'm lucky. If it wasn't for the 2 extra battery packs I carry, a 15 hour day would be impossible.

That's great! I also get 54+ hours when my device is off. How many hours of use do you get out of it when you power it on?

I'm running my Z30 STA-5 with the 10.2.1.1925 and 1899 radio and have great battery life and radio service. Just got back from 3 weeks in Hawaii using a Roam Mobility SIM (T-Mobile) on my unlocked phone and it worked great. The radio I got was directly from the packaged leak for the Z30. Not sure where the radio 1926 is coming from.

Don't you hate it when you're talking to your fellow owners about how your V12 Bentley is getting crappy mileage when someone pops in that his McLaren MP4-12C is getting 20x the mileage?

Mate, you could put the crappiest OS on the Z30 and still get great battery life. Speaking of which...I really want a Z30!

I think it's more likely a typo and was meant to be 24 not 54. Just my opinion tho
