From BlackBerry 10.1 update coming to Z10 weeks after Q10 launch | MobileSyrup.com

BlackBerry announced today that its first major update for the BlackBerry Z10, dubbed BB10.1, will arrive weeks after the release of the Q10 on May 1st.

The update will introduce many of the same features found in the Q10 shipping software, including Pin-to-Pin messaging, contacts suggestions in the Hub, HDR photos in the Camera app, custom message notifications on a per-account basis, in addition to performance improvements and better low-light photos.

The BlackBerry Z10 has seen one update since its launch in early February which cleared up many of the launch-related bugs. It also addressed a major sticking point, battery life, improving it substantially over the shipping software.

Such a significant update is subject to carrier approval, so no word on exactly when the software will hit, but we�d imagine it will be before the end of May.

Disappointing. Was hoping it would be available for Z10 as well when Q10 launches.

I love my BBs but why do I always feel like a second class citizen.

I found the leak a bit laggy, is this normal? Would the lag die down in time?

Exactly as I stated in a other thread the carriers have to have 10.1 because they'd need to test it with Q10 on their networks

I found 1429 to have hiccups at time as well but still nothing that wasn't worth down grading and my version Z10STL100-3/10.1.0.1483 is even more stable unfortunetly like the Skype thread for the sake of my contact I can't release how I obtained it only that it's stable and faster than 1429

To note about my version is its only two below the dev 1485

I ran 1429 for about a week and never any serious lag only at times when I had multiple messages come into my hub at once and I was responding to something in hub

Isn't .1483 the dev release. I doubt you have some connection that personally gave you such an OS

1485 is the dev release I have mine 1483 with full social support and all the apps and also has a boot time and software version

Agreed. Very disappointed by it not being available upon launch at worst. Why such a gap? And after May 1 is still technically not a date.

But at least it's coming. Hopefully the most wanted app beginning with S will also be available for z10 users when 10.1 drops.

Damn, it's a shame that 10.1 will take so long to get to the Z10. I was expecting it to arrive much quicker. I might have to consider loading up the leaked OS. Is there any major setbacks I should be worried about? I use a number of sideloaded Android apps (Instagram's a big one, I'll have to go through the Facebook workaround) but I've heard of issues with those.

Most issue I have is I need to go into Facebook to get my notifications they don't get pushed

Kris are you able to get the latest Whatsapp update on that OS? It gives the same error Adobe does on 1429
