Hello, I'm currently on Q, but intending to switch to Z white for its appearance and different keyboard.

Could anyone give me some ideas on the battery life?
My daily usage would be 2 to 3 hrs of LTE (ie. youtube, browsing) and a few hrs of music.
    Generally a moderate user.

How long will the battery last in this scenario?

    Thanks!

Battery life is pretty subjective, i'd be hard pressed to give you a length of time.. but I can tell you I use mine A LOT more then what you're describing and I generally get 8 hours or so.. I wouldn't be surprised if you got a full day. Phone calls are what really eat up the battery.

I usually get about 6-8 hours lately. Used to get around 12 before I started testing leaked OS finding the 2354 is terrible for bat life.

Yeah I had the same experience with 2354. I just downgraded to my providers newest version, 2312 which seems to be the same but my battery life improved drastically.

.2312 is the OS release nr for OS.2354.
Maybe you should recheck your numbers.

I'm sure about the numbers. I side loaded 2354 and after using it for about two weeks, my phone started to notify me about an update to 2312.

My experience about the battery life might be subjective, obviously, but I'm very certain that it improved after the 'downgrade'.

Well guys this is my first post, and it is regarding Battery life. The last two weeks have been absolutely terrible, I can say that I have after exhaustive research/trial and error I have discovered that Android ports are in general... bad.
Both Ebay and Skype are the worst offenders, draining the battery and overheating the device in a matter of hours.
Please please please don't run these apps on your device until they are native.

Right. 2354 is a big mess on the battery side. But I'll hold until the next release since I have 3 spare batteries.

I'm pretty much just waiting for stable 10.2 leaks. If they run well enough, they might bridge the time until the official release. I never expect a leak to have good battery performance, but I sure as hell expect it from an official release that supposedly went through my carriers QA.

It really is. I don't know how so many people in other threads say it's the best for battery life?! Only thing I can think of is the drain is coming from some OS2 bar files I side loaded... but I'm not deleting things to know for sure. Just going to wait till the next update for me. Unless my provider fails me like it always does on the legacy devices....os updates a year after they are released from BlackBerry.

If you're concerned about battery life, don't switch. I love my Z10, but wish I had the patience to wait for the Q10. It was a bit of a shock to come from my 9810 where I could easily go 20 hours off the charger, but the Z10 struggles to make 18 hours. The Z10 should have been made slightly thicker to accommodate a battery with the Q10's capacity. I wish there was a way to switch to the Q10, but it looks like I'll have to suffer for another couple of years.

As a frame of reference, I think I'm a moderate user. I have 5 email addresses (push if possible), Facebook, LinkedIn synced, so in the course of a day I get around 50 emails and around 20 texts/BBMs. LTE, no wifi, no BT, no NFC, screen dimmed to embarrasingly low levels. Most of my usage is email, with the odd bit of CB and websurfing to keep up on news.

LOL 18hrs sounds about right, I guess 14~16hrs would be just perfect for me =D
Thanks for the reference by the way!

I'm very inconsistent with my use so I can't give specific times. Battery life was horrible at first maybe 7 - 9 hrs with light use. Since the update to 10.0.1.214 on a STL100-3 there is a significant improvement in battery life.

Barely more than 8 hours with no bluetooth, no wifi, about 40% brightness, 10 secs display off, three e-mail accounts synced + twitter.
OS version 10.0.9.2372, but 10.1.0.2312 is available from my carrier.
Please tell me quickly if a software update will improve things as I'm considering returning it and I only have a few days for that.
11 hours is what i'm after - at least.

I usually get 12hrs with moderate use, 15+ with lite use, and about 8 with constant use and or messaging. That's running the latest and greatest from VZW.

I usually get 8-12 hours on my z10 using it a lot for texting browsing the Web and a little YouTube. At first I couldn't make it more than half a day now I can go all day. I would recommend that if you want to improve battery life try a higher amp charger. I use an 2amp charger and have great battery life

I had a very long battery life when I updated my OS, about 8 hours with BBM, foursquare, twitter, and music.

But it's getting worse this last two weeks, it can finish the battery in 5-6 hours with BBM, and Blaq only
