So I picked up my Z10 last week and got it unlocked. I have been using it a lot and overall quite impressed with the overall device.

The biggest thing that has happened today was I answered a call and the ear piece speaker was rattling like it was blown.

Has anybody else experienced this or have any suggestions on how to fix it before I go and try and get a replacement device?

I noticed the same thing on a call today. (person was a loud talker). I turned down the volume and it was fine. Haven't had any trouble since.

pretty sure mines blown too. it has been getting worse for a few days. restart didn't do anything. no drops.

Ya got mine on day two in canada, first phone lasted 10 days then the speaker blew, got a new one and now on day 4 and it happened again. My buddy got a black one at the same time and his is fine, both mine are white I wonder if it was a bad run? What color is your phone?

Thats how mine started, down two bars from the highest setting first, then halfway, then down so low you can barely hear them, and then no matter how low it is you can hear the crackle FML LOL

mine was a black one purchased on launch day. i replaced it 16 days later, hopefully it was from a different batch of phones. i didn't think to look at the manufacturer number or whatever on the old phone before i took it back. my vendor offers 30 day in store replacement but im not sure if that is 30 days from the initial purchase, or 30 days from the time i got the new phone so if it goes again, hopefully it goes within 2 weeks.

Second phone speaker blown now. This one lasted like 10 days. Only 45 mins total talk time on both phones. And no music. Wtf!

same issue, I just got the phone and about 1 hour of talking and it sounds like its blown

I haven't noticed any issues and I have hours and hours of talk time. Maybe, as someone else mentioned, it was a bad run.

Mine just went the other day. I have to turn the sound way down to stop it from happening but now I can barely hear anyone. Before that the call reception was amazing and crystal clear.

What did you guys do to get a new one? Just take it back to Rogers?

I noticed this issue last night, it crackled when I had the phone on speakerphone. I am considering replacing soon, or maybe waiting a few months and maybe they will update the hardware in case they are using a not so good quality speaker

I have the same issue and trying to have Telus swap out the hardware. Reported the issue to Telus Feb 7, 2013 and I have still no resolution. They tell me its past the 30 days and but I reported on the 7th of Feb and they see the notes and I purchased the phone directly from them on Jan 30, 2013. Poor service from Telus!

The speaker cracks and muffled, works fine on speaker phone but not the handset speaker.

SUCKS - really like the phone other wise.

Can those of you with speaker problems please share your model # and let's see if there is a commonality? There is strength in numbers and it could not only help you, it could help the rest of us who will be picking up our Z10's this week and next.

This scares me, I had a brief time with Android (I know, I should have known better) and this same thing happened to me with 2 Droid RAZR M devices. Fortunately I was able to bail and go back to my trusty 9650. With my luck it will happen again once I finally get my Z10.

Strange your speaker has blown. It rarely happens. yes it can be replaced very easily and you can easily fix the problem

My Telus retailer exchanged both of mine in store no hassle. Because of this tho, I did purchase a premium extended warranty

My speaker has blown twice now. I got it from Telus and had the second phone maybe 3 weeks max. I love the phone, but I'm thinking of returning it for something different. It's just unacceptable. Model # RFF9ILW
