hahaha you are totally right. I actually ate it while writing my response.. lmaooo

Well if the applications are stored on just internal (probably the case), just store your media and such on the SD card, and 16GB of internal storage is actually more than I think most people are making it out to be for just applications. I do have a 64GB PlayBook, but filled up like 50GB of it with music and movies, and I have about 20-30 apps installed with still a lot of extra room. Sure it will be different as BB10 will have many more apps than on the PlayBook, but even then, 16GB is a pretty decent amount of apps.
16 GB is enough, although remember everything (hopefully) will be optimized to take advantage of the HD screen. Games will be running at a higher native resolution, apps like Zinio will be more detailed, My point being is that 16 GB was enough for the PlayBook on a 1024x600 screen but with BlackBerry 10 devices having a 1280x720 display (L Series being the exception with a 1280x768), a lot of the apps and games will get larger in size.

Now I doubt it will be as dramatic as when the iPhone and iPad got their retina display optimized applications, but still 32 GB is what I think the sweet spot is in terms of manufacturing costs and user satisfaction. In fact, if they make BlackBerry 10 devices come with 32 GB of built in storage, I think for a lot of users that will be quite enough for their uses. Obviously some of us want more storage and some of us won't make use of all the storage, but hey having the extra storage is never a bad thing in my opinion.

If we have to choose I'll probably go with 16gb since my nexus is 16 and I'm doing fine with storage space

I am wondering if the current SD cards' we have in our phones will be able to be transferred into the new BB10 devices? Or will these cards have to be customized Just for BB10?
I would expect bb10 to use the same folder structure as the playbook rather than that of bb7 and you would need to use the desktop software or something to convert it or would need to format the card to suit.

16GB is sufficient for me, 32GB is more than enough, the decision will be between these two.

The issue is that the people who want more storage can add more on this via an sd card unlike with the playbook and those who would not use the extra space would be forced to pay extra for something they wouldn't use which could push them into looking at another phone since price is an important purchasing consideration.

I expect we will see 16gig + sd card as the only option for these first bb10 devices.

I'm still not sure at the moment, but most probably getting just a 16gb. Then when Aristo comes out, i'll upgrade to that.

The way I see it, you never say "Oh shoot I should of just gotten less memory". People usually go "Oh shoot I knew I should of gotten more memory". Its the same logic as people say "I wish I gotten a bigger TV", no one ever says "I should of got a smaller TV".

32GB. My PlayBook shows that to be the right amount (as does my girlfriend's iPod touch). 64GB would be overkill for this generation, and the SD card could easily handle any content I bring over if the 32GB starts getting full.

If they have 64gb I will get that, along with a 64 sd micro card to load it up.

The real question is what's the biggest micro SD card you can buy, at what price, and when will bigger ones be widely available at decent prices?

It better accept a 64gb for sure, or the decision to get this phone or android just got real easy.

Depends on pricing. If the 32gb is within 199.99 price tag, then that is what I am going with. Otherwise whatever i can afford.

Just curious what memory size phone are you getting assuming there is a 32GB and 64GB Z10 since its rumoured at 16GB with a microSD slot.

I'm going to opt for a 32GB just like my Playbook.

    What about you guys?

I need a minimum of 32GB internal since I have no confidence we can store apps on the microSD card. If its possible to do so then maybe. But if 16GB is the only variant then I think RIM is already stumbling. Users want the ability to carry what they want with out having to suck up their data plans to re-install an app. I will admit its been a while since I used a BB device and I do recall the apps were smaller on the older OS's but what is going to happen with the new BB10 OS, better display, graphics, processors, I see developers making things bigger and nicer, but BIGGER.
