My only concern with getting the Z10 was the virtual keyboard. After a month, I have no issues with it at all, and wouldn't trade up the extra screen space for a hardware keyboard.

from all the posts looks like the perfect combo is the Z10 and the Playbook with mini-keyboard case...

Hmnn...mm just tried putting the accent over the e in Jose and CB10 doesn't show it at all. Had to put in a normal e instead. Me thinks an oversight by the app. : (

Never going back. Played around with my old 9800 just for kicks. Nope. Not even close. It just feels like an outdated way of doing things. It takes way more effort to write on a physical keyboard. Never thought I would say that, but there you have it.

Even tho i like the Q10, i will stick to my Z10 & Bold 9900. Honestly if the time comes & i want to get the Q10, i will just buy it threw Kijiji or somewhere else. If i want to trade my Z10 for the Q10 & in the end i do not like it that much, i can not get the Z10 back unless i sell it or trade it again. So no point lol

went through that phase where I was in love with having a huge screen.

I found it to be cumbersome and tedious to operate after 1 year. Carrying the thing

around was also not something I liked to do, so it hardly left the house. I'm in my early 40's

so it doesn't excite me to be poking a glass screen all the time. You can't discount the efficiency of

the trackpad. Less work in my lazy view. Still, wanting the q10 I'd be willing to make the trade-off to have

a classic themed bb with advanced capabilities+keypad. I could not acclimate to a virtual pad. To each his own!!

    Agreeable.

But do take note, there is no more trackpad on BB 10s. So you still need to poke around the "glass" to get to where you wanna go. Most notably when moving cursors among words.

    Anyhow, BB10 really rocks!!!

I was the most efficient and productive when I used the 9900....so I'll be using the z10 for now until the q10 is released and then I'll be getting it day one on AT&T. For me, a physical keyboard is always going to be better than a virtual one

I bought my Z10 unlocked off contract and saved my upgrades for the Q and whatever may come later this year...at the very least I'll get the Q and try it for 30 days before I decide to keep it...I'll probably end up with both...

Nope. I was hesitant in switching over to an all-touch keyboard at first too but after using it, I totally fell in love with it. The BB10 keyboard is just as easy and accurate to type on as the physical keyboard on my old curve (actually tried typing on my old curve a few days before and it felt awkward, honestly; I was surprised). Plus, the screen real estate is one I can't give up on now that I've used it. And the absolutely no buttons and all gesture is absolute love for this user. Cannot go back to buttons anymore.

The annoying issue on the 9900 where I'd press the space once and it would end up double spacing and putting in a full stop in the middle of sentences (every other sentence) is what made me try the z10. I type so much on my phone that a physical keyboard seems to give me problems after a while due to mechanical wear and tear (I can't be bothered to keep replacing them). Before the Z10 it was worth persevering because touch screen typing on phones was terrible. Now...I'll never look back.

Month and a bit since the Z10 came out. I imagine many of you are like me - long time, dedicated QWERTY users who got impatient and opted for Z10 instead (I haven't got one yet, can't decide if I want Z or Q)

After owning the Z10, would you trade it straight up for a Q10? Or has it grown on you (why/why not)?

Basically just wondering if a diehard keyboard phone user could ever be won over by a touchscreen device...
I was diehard qwerty user and still am at heart. I have the z10 because of the big screen. I do like the z10 keyboard, but would love to go back to the physical keyboard. Would not go q10 because of the small screen. Waiting till they come out with a portrait slider like my torch 9800, then i will switch. That is if they ever do.

I'm sadly still using my Curve 9320, and still finding it so unbelievable useful when it comes to typing. Somepeople will prefer a keyboard because of how much they need to type out, and others will like a touchscreen because of it's, "flow." There are pros and cons of each, for example, keyboard phones break easily if you're a power user (or you're one of those people who types 400-word blog posts on your BlackBerry), yet in the same way, touchscreens can crack.

    Depends how much you're typing!

That was the plan but the z10 has grown on me.
I will have to play with the q10 with my own hands before I can decide.

Interesting thread to follow but I have a question for all those coming from a physical keyboard to the Z10. When it is the end of the day, you are tired, and you have to pound out a long email, do you wish for a physical keyboard? Sort of critical for me in terms of choosing.

Z10 is my first touch screen phone, but I don't miss the physical keyboard at all.

Only thing in my mind that the Q10 has over the Z10 is battery life.

No, I find that my 9900 is more taxing to type on at the end of a long hard day. I make more mistakes on it than I do my Z10. If I've been on my 9900 much of the day my thumbs will be sore too, not with the Z10.
