Work is dropping all Blackberry phones and I need to choose another work phone. Basically, anything Verizon offers besides Blackberry. I've had Blackberry phones for the last decade and have not used anything else. Very reliable and efficient. My question is what is a good replacement for my Z10?

That's weird, why can't your IT department manage a Z10? It uses the same data connectivity as all other platforms and I'm assuming your company is going to use active sync for email distribution.

I guess if you have to choose, I'd pick iPhone. Android as an OS always seemed like a jumbled mess to me.

Tell them that work and security should go hand in hand. No better security than BlackBerry. Iphone5s was hacked in 48 hours and Android is a super highway for poor security. I know those aren't the answers you wanted, but BlackBerry is the best option for business.

In that situation, I'd get an iPhone.

i would get the iPhone but as it stands the new BlackBerry's can use exactly the same network plans as the iPhone and Android devises. Maybe they just get you a new Z10?

Work has password software that apparently doesn't work with BB10 and they are not upgrading the BES server. Software works on Android and IOS. Looking at Galaxy S4 and IPhone 5s, possibly windows. Has anyone else been forced to change?

Huh? If they are using active sync, that's simply not true. Find out what they are connecting with, sounds like you are getting fed a line

I agree, most companies who were waiting on BES10 simply managed Z10 devices over active sync. I work for one of the big 3 carries in Canada and when they replaced my aging 9800 ( FYI took them forever), BES10 wasn?t out for service yet but the Z10 was on our list of applicable phones to choose from. I've been using my Z10 over active sync ever since getting it in February.

Shouldn't be forced to change with BYOD.

I'm in the exact same boat, we are BYOD. Our company has BES5 but also manages non BlackBerry legacy devices via active sync. When I turfed my 9810 which was running on the BES and got Z10, I simply asked IT to create my exchange account and I used the same login credentials as my iPhone and Android colleges on our active sync. I didn't even tell my IT people what kind of device I had!

I'd say if you really need the full office suit, go WP8. If you need a phone with all apps and widely used, I'd say take the iPhone
Android, not so sure of that in the workplace

Mainly cause their a 3 time poster is my guess an no mention of the "password software" like a name or what it does there might be something we could recommend but with vague info its no wonder is it?

Yeah, but what does the Z10 not log in to that an Apple or Android can?

No ..... .it is almost exact. They had BES5, we had BES5. We moved away from BlackBerry support because BES10 was not out yet and migrated to active sync like them. We both connected out BB10 devices via the active sync

    Not seeing much difference

Well, not everyone cares to get that technical about things. It's like asking some people what phone they have and they reply, "It's a Motorola." Or what car they drive and they say, "A red car. It's American."

We can't help the OP find a way to keep their BlackBerry phone without knowing what software isn't compatible, but to be fair, that wasn't the issue we were asked to solve.

I don't know, and I doubt the OP knows, either. He is being told to change phones by his company. Not his decision, but theirs. Doesn't mean anything except that he's a normal phone user that must now change phones.
