Yup, much better UI. Also, better on the battery. Already had a chance to validate on my way to work this morning. I use Neutron to stream to my in-vehicle DSP.

Why am I getting the neutron app logo thru my main screen? Is not properly lined up with the app screen. Sucky. Doc Neutron

Oops. Pops was referring to his PBs. Neutron on my Z10 is indeed sweet. Neutron on my 20 year old Panasonic and on my 24 year old Mercedes Bose systems is totally awesome!

No, really I got it this time: for both PB and Z10, landscape is sloppy. Could fix by adjusting "Neutron" logo?

However now there is a noticeable lag when switching between portrait and landscape, and also bringing up the control menu that wasn't in the previous version.

The new version doesn't display the bit rate of the current mp3 playing and in order to get the song name and time, you must have the whole control menu up on the screen. Wish I could have the option to show this data aside from the control menu. I'd like to see them create an option to scroll the track name on the screen if it is long.

And I don't see a power save option anymore...?

It all depends on the room you're in. Look online for some tutorials online and learn how to make your own.

Just downloaded it. The UI is quite unintuitive I think. Also for an app that costs 4 I they should have at least had some predefined useable sound presets that shipped with the app no? Not everyone wants to tweak with every aspect of the sound (or knows what they are doing when they do). Some just want a batter player than the default BB10 music player.

@os30 if this is the first time experiencing Neutron, I'll have you know that the new UI is an improvement over the old one and much more responsive. Yes it does take some getting used to but the app worth much more than the price you ate paying. The sheer number of options and quality of the audio output puts other apps out there to shame.

I'm not sure battery consumption is better. I have noticed that the Z10 tends to become hot when running Neutron music player, something that wasn't happening with the previous version. Did some of you notice this change ?

I just noticed that as well. I thought it was perhaps because I was out in the sun but I'm not so sure now.

The battery usage has gone way up. With the app running, my battery is draining over -2.12 W. When it's turned off, it drops within minutes. I have also 3 crashes today which never used to happen.

This is hilarious. This app's main complaint in the beginning was the UI and battery issues. Now one of them has worsened further.

I still won't buy this app until the battery issue gets sorted out. The UI I can tolerate.

I've posted about the battery drain on the neutron forum, but the problem only surfaced with the new 10.1 MR update, running the neutron version before 1.74. Previously, I had no issues and updating to 1.74 did not help. I even wiped and reloaded the OS - still idles at around 0.8 W, which drains about 30% in a couple hours.

But, I think the UI redesign is a step in the right direction.
