Guys, I have been a fan of BlackBerry from years and I own q5 and classic and few old blackberries, my friend is buying a new mobile and he is very much impressed with multitasking and fluidity of bb10 and he has decided give bb10 a try, but here in my country only q5 and q10 and z10 is available as a bang for buck, since he is not typoholic he has decided to go for z10 cause here leap and z3 cost double of z10, so now my question is is wise to buy a z10 even after a 2 years of its release???? His only concern is camera and social networking! Price list is as follows z3 for 14000 INR (215 $), leap for 18000 (276$) and z10 for just 10000 (150$)

Camera on z10 is decent. It is fast and cheap. For a candy crush and heavy messaging it is amazing. Also it has a very sharp screen. I have stl 100-3 variant.

I'd prefer z10 over z3 and leap..... but I don't think that its wise to purchase it since its 2yrs old. If he's looking to save money and those are his options then i suggest the z10

I recently bought a used Z10, because my wife wanted my old one, preferring it to her iPhone 6. It is a full-featured smart phone for a fraction of the cost of others. If you are using it for Web browsing, email, messaging, phone, etc, it's great, though you'll want to get the battery-charger bundle since that bright beautiful screen can burn through the battery.

For a discounted price, it gives you almost everything you'd want. Recommended.

It is worthy to buy Z10. Check the Z10 model is compatible to your country network. I suggest to buy Z10/STL100-2.

Avoid STL100-1, find STL100-4 if you could and get the charger bundle. Afterwards, elevate your SIM card to 4G if you haven't already done so. Do not install too many android apps from the Amazon/Snap/Cobalt's Google Store, stick to the Blackberry World apps as possible (you could still get most --if not ALL, social media apps from it). Do not install Skype, use BBM Video instead.

Do all these, and I guarantee you the Z10 will surpass even the most current modern smartphones in terms of reliability, longevity, power, snappiness, and usability.

Get the Passport if you want to feel an altogether different beast of smartphone, with the same aforementioned suggestions apply.

The Z10 is still worth a buy today, because it costs only around 200 Euros or Dollars. Thus it has become a lower priced smartphone and you should compare it with new phones in that price range. However, I read in your post that you already own the BlackBerry Classic which seems to be slightly better and newer than the Z10. Aren't you content with the Classic?

Well coming from a Motorola I730, Motorola I870, BB Pearl, BB 8800, BB Tour and then to a Note 2, I find myself missing the old BB days. After researching it I found that the BB Z10 is still quite a good phone for what it is so I order a brand new one today. I'm pretty sure I will be a happy camper with it. Thinking of it being my daily driver.

If you look at the specs you ll not believe how technology has evolved.
Wait for few more months new phone could be released by then.
Z10 is obsolete and may not last for another year.

Look at the z10 specs and decide.

All true. It's an old phone now, and the battery life has always been truly awful (and Skype will drain it super-fast even when closed). I had one and the battery life was so poor that I sold it to pick up a Q10. I'm not a heavy user either. If your friend wants BB10, and the price is right, it's a judgment call, but he could end up quite disappointed.

Yeah but his main concern is camera and social networking apps, mainly whatsapp, since he is not a heavy user I think z10 is right for him, even z10 camera is quite impressive.

Battery drain affects a lot of phones. Since the start of owning BBs I have always had 3 batteries as standard for me. Even my current Note 2 has 3 batteries. I'm a power user and no other way out of it. That being said I ordered 2 spare batteries for my z10.
