Or a battery with the receiver built in, seeing as this one is wafer thin it shouldn't affect capacity
This is very true ! I would definitely buy such a battery. And it would free my USB port.

@JWWDUKE in my case, I just bought one of the cheapest Qi charger :

The plate and charger work well but the usb cable was faulty.

This may be a dumb question, but does the Z10 have to be on the charger pad to charge? Cause if so, what's really the difference than plugging it in?

Yes it has to be on the pad.

The only difference is that you don't have to plug a cable.
Also, your microsub port will have less use and so less wear.

Ok, thanks. I need to find a way to have it charge faster. I've been using my playbook charger on my phones the last couple years and I don't think I could go back to a regular speed charge. haha

I fully understand you ! I am using my PlayBook charger too and in 1h30 I get a full charge (from 10%).
Here, I will need more than 3h to get a full charge with the wireless charger.

    What is the issue ?

It works quite well I have to admit. My battery has never been so full, especially that I just leave my phone on the Qi plate whenever I can.

Amazon Q10 Wireless setup. 750ma pad + QI tag.

Amazon.com: [Aftermarket Product] Type A Micro USB Qi Wireless Universal Charger Pad Receiver Coil Tag For Q10: Cell Phones & Accessories

Wireless charging on Z10, but also Q10, Q5, Z30 or any other phone with microsub-4106w8nut2l.jpg

I ordered this setup and plan to put the tag between my BB Q10 hard shell and the back cover. Should work fine, but for the cheap price only time will tell. 3 weeks shipping time.....

This is awesome.. Im looking at doing it for my white z30...

what do you guys think about this charger ?? I want a white one to match my z30 and hear nokia's have a good range, etc..$50 is about the max I can spend.

Or for half the price I might go with this one.

It would be really awesome if instead of plugging into the micro usb there was a lead that connected directly between the phone terminals and the battery... I'm not sure if that would cause any harm to the device though if it was pushing out more juice to actually charge the battery.... Is there anything like this available leaving the usb free and everything well hidden?
Working on exactly that. Will update soon if everything is working. Have some problems with the shielding, but as soon as i receive a new qi coil i can fix that.

I ditched the NFC tag in the back, used the connections of the NFC tag and rewired them to the USB port (negative needs no wire):

It is working, but the lack of shielding makes a low power connection:

hi! my brand new z10 doesnt charge, but the passport does. this is unacceptable stupidity because the solution is so simple. i got a CHOETECH charging base which has 3 charging coils and it does the passport fine. easy to line up the units because charger is size of ahhhhh grrrr iphone 4. for the z10 i just bought a little receiver any of them work, pug it in the power usb port, fold it over to the back of the phone, then just put on a case, viola, blackberry stupidity kludged. take that, rim! lol. gregory. BTW i got it at amazon, not too bad price. oh, and im not japanese lol... fudashi really means fu da shi add the letters. its my real company name. cause at fudashi, we already made it happen. lol.

ok the unit i have puts out over 1 amp at 5 volts. and, its very easy to align the choetech. now i did a test which blew my mind. i took the smaller charging pad that looks like the enterprise literallly and i hooked up a bacckup battery to it, and fudasshi, it works. awesome. just mind blowing. im using aa 2 amp charger. i like the cchoetech beccuse it has 3 charging coils in the bas, so more current output up to 2 amps. the little round ooone that liiks like the enterprise is slower, but perfect to carry along with my backup battery (2 ammp) aagain, fudashi, rim! lol

So, bottom line is a Qi charger kit will work for my z10? Not the PMA type (whatever that means?
