Eventually. But, most are using the OS Leaks and moved on. Carriers could care less about how long we have to wait. Under current circumstances, BlackBerry can't afford "not" to support any Smartphones they are trying to sell- even after the launch of the "Big" Z10(A10/Z30 - whatever it is).

No - the Z10 will not be left behind with regard to OS updates.
The release is unfortunally still in control of the individual carriers. Hopefully BlackBerry will change that.

Z30 will launch later this year with 10.2. My guess is early/mid Q4 so it is ready for Christmas.
10.2 for Z10 is definitively going to be released. IMHO there is a good chance they will release it before Z30, as it will give BB time to fix any problems so Z30 will be as close to perfect when it launches.

I'm certainly no Apple fanboy, but let's be fair about it. Apple has been pretty good about releasing updates, unlike the poor, horribly fragmented Android "ecosystem's" M�tley crew of handset makers.

It's already developed and works pretty much perfectly... that's how we have these 10.2 leaks...

So yes, the Z10 will get 10.2

Some devices cant run certain OS versions due to device specs. As is, the Z10 is a decent phone spec wise, so should be able to handle newer OS versions, like upcoming 10.2.
Now same would go for Apple or Android. If the phone doesn't have the specs, the power, etc, necessary to run the newer OS, obviously it won't get the update. With Apple as example, older iPhone don't have the specs the newer ones do...so they are not compatible to receive the new iOS7 ad example.
With Z10 and Q10, specs and processor and power, etc, are all there. So def should see upcoming OS update for these, unless BlackBerry changes their OS structure dramatically!

I've been considering it. To be honest, the only reason why I haven't is that I've been getting timely updates from my carrier and they've all been rock solid. I guess I just didn't want to take the chance of something going wrong. Also, I've never managed to get Link to successfully back up my Z10STL100-2 so OTA updates were a better bet given that it takes a good day to restore everything manually. Link starts the back up ok but never succeeds in completing it. I have the latest version of link and have tried on the various OS builds that I've had.

Apparently it's a huge improvement. Toast notifications, interactive lock screen, Android Jellybean runtime etc.

Yes, the Z10 will receive 10.2 once it has been released and approved by carriers. It would be absolutely ludicrous if it didn't since the device isn't even a year old yet.
