Will the updated OS have a return arrow or next line for bbm / text etc? Presently I'm using space / L.

You have to go in your settings to make the return key not send. Been so long since I have been on 10.1, I don't know if this is exclusive to 10.2 or not.

To be more specific, go into text messages, then hit the three dots on the lower right, select settings, hit text messages, move to off the button that says use return key to send. Then you are all set.

You can also press and hold the shift arrow and hit the return key to make a new line.

I noticed on10.2 1791 I can't add a line break the traditional way (shift enter) in bbm or text messages

IN 10.2.0.1767 you can hold the shift key and hit the "send" key and it adds a line without sending. This works in BBM, Text Messaging, and in emails and in anything written.

Ahh.. that's kind of annoying imo. I don't want to HOLD shift.. you used to he able to tap shift then tap enter. To correct my last post, HOLDING shift does work in 1791

As of 10.1 for me. It's just a tap shift then press enter. The enter doesn't actually change which is not reassuring.

+ 1.. tap shift > enter should be how it works.. but yes, I've previously complained to BlackBerry that the enter key should change to a "return" key when you tap shift.. (return key as in what it looks like when posting on cb)

Ya, you have to go into settings in the hub and select text messages then turn off "use enter key to send". You get line breaks back but there is a send button at the top right corner to send your message now. It's stupid, they should have just left it as Shift+Enter for line break and Enter to send.

Like newcollector said, if you HOLD shift (on 10.2) it works

So you're saying it doesn't work on 10.2.0.1791 (holding shift while tapping enter)? I'm not the only one to confirm this is the method on both 91 and 67.. tap shift tap enter was added 10.1 Mr.. it was changed to hold shift tap hold for the 10.2 release (67 and 91.) 1047 was an internal, unfinished version.. the release version of 10.2 does not work with a tap, at least not on the stl100-3

My bad, it does work. Mine just had to many glitches because I did a restore after I updated. So I did a wipe and manually input all setting/contacts and everything works perfect now.

With 10.1.0.2039 on my Z10 the tap shift enter doesn't seem to work when sending a text.
My way around it is to compose a new text with a blank To: field, then add the recipient(s) and then send.
It's not a perfect solution when replying to an incoming text but it works.
