I've got an STL100-2 on Vodafone UK. I'd love to pick up a couple of Z10s for my kids, but I'm not sure if the ones on shopblackberry.com will work on Vodafone UK. I read somewhere that the sale versions is the STL100-3. I've looked at the charts on this site, and various other places around the web, but I'd just like to make sure before I make a huge mistake.

Can anyone confirm that an unlocked STL100-3 will work on Vodafone UK, and if it will be 2G, 3G, 4G?

Thanks for the help! It took awhile to talk my wife into this, so I want to get it right!

I'm getting my best friend in London a SIM free (white) Z10 as a holiday gift. So far Carphone Warehouse seems to have a good price there at 179.95. If someone knows a better price near London, I'm interested.

That's a pretty good price, but $200 is a lot better, so I'm hoping I can use the STL100-3.

    STL100-3 works on this bands:
    RFK121LW: Quad band HSPA+ 1, 2, 4, 5/6 (850/1700/1900/2100 MHz)
    RFF91LW: Tri-band HSPA+ 1, 2, 5/6 (850/1900/2100 MHz)

    Vodafone UK works on:
    GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / UMTS 2100 & 900

I assume that you can figure out for yourself.

STL 100-2 will work on Vodafone, i have one and my phone works on the Vodafone network.

Best to stick with the 100-2 z10, think that model is the only one that works in the UK.

Hmm...that's not the same chart I've seen elsewhere. From this thread, it shows a lot more options. Will the Black Friday Z10 (0) work on Vodafone UK?-z10_frequencies_v6.jpg

The listing on shopblackberry.com only has this information, without listing the model number: "4G LTE Speed
Only compatible with GSM carriers, including AT&T and T-Mobile"

Also, the chart from Wikipedia for Vodafone shows this range of frequencies:
Will the Black Friday Z10 (0) work on Vodafone UK?-vodafone-frequencies.jpg

So...it LOOKS like it should work on Vodafone judging by the charts, but I'm just looking for someone that has used an unlocked STL100-3 on Vodafone UK, or can help reassure me.

If you go to the Blackberry website and view the Z10, it'll give you the option to buy PAYG. Look at the CPW option which is currently 149.95, with a choice of carriers. I understand that CPW phones are unlocked so you can chuck the SIM, if you need to.

This ought to save you 30/phone...

$200 is roughly 150 at current exchange rates, add shipping and you will probably exceed the CPW price, plus you need STL 100-2 for the UK

the cheaper ones are PAYG and most likely locked, the 179 are definitely unlocked.

I was hoping for unlocked since we'll probably move next year. Also, according to Google, 149.95 is about $245, so the list cost will be about $90 more for two phones. I think I'll go with CarPhoneWarehouse anyway so I don't have to worry about getting the phones before Christmas from the States.

I put my money that STL100-3 will not work in uk. At best it will work partiality. If I was at your place I wouldn't get that one. But it's your money.

An STL100-3 will work fine on Vodafone UK for 2G and 3G, but will NOT work on 4G.
