First off, yes I searched the forums first and was unable to find anything that answered my question... So here goes.

At work we have an 802.11n access point and at home I recently upgraded to an N router as well. The Z10 supposedly supports dual band 802.11n, but the speed it is connected at shows 65Mbps. Obviously faster than G, but falling way short of the 240Mbps that I'm getting on my laptop. Is anyone else getting better/different results? Network type is showing as 802.11g/n. It's not displaying signal level, but I have 3 "bars" for wifi.

Same situation here. 65 Mbps rate, 802.11g/n.

My ISP sucks and they can't offer anything over 10MB where I am, so i usually get my max speeds on the Z10.

What is your nominal max speed? Not the WiFi band speed.

I sideloaded Speedtest.net. I don't think there is any other way to tell how fast your connection is but to run a speed test (either using an app or the browser).

So, untill the OP comes back, I think he may be mistaking the max connection speed with the nominal broadband speed he pays to get from his ISP.

To view the speed, go to wifi settings and then advanced. On speed test, I'm getting something around 10000kbps. I'm not overly concerned about my internet speeds, because with u verse I only have 15mbps, and I'm getting close. I would like to know why the speed the z10 is connected to the internal network with is so much slower than is possible with 802.11n.

Single stream wireless n is about 65mbps link speed for cell phones.

Need mimo for the higher data rates.

So you see... That 65 Mbps is not your connection speed... It's the best value your device could possibly get out of a N band. It is not the WiFi speed at all. From what you've said, your ISP should top at around 15000kbps.

You probably have interference. Other devices connected to WiFi, other radios, microaves, magnetism and well... walls. All those things can cause your actual speed to be lower than what it should be.

I would also like to kindly ask you fill in your profile, as that information is valuable to us and usually helps solve problems!
