I only experience this on my Z10, but it has done it off and on the whole time I have owned it (2 years) and through all the software updates (including two full wipes). It's both annoying and interesting...

Q10 with the same OS, no problem. Several Androids, a Wii, a couple laptops, etc... also fine.

I tried using a static IP with the Google DNS, in case it was an issue related to DHCP/DNS between the router and the Z10, but the issue still happens after a while.

My guess is that there is a power management driver issue, because if it was a physical problem, such as a poor connection to the antenna, it would effect the (usually great) cell phone data connection too. And if it was a general BB10 problem then my Q10 would also have it.

I have an STL100-3, for reference.

Anyone else experience such issues with a Z10?

Sounds like maybe an issue with your Z. Hardware?

That's possible. The quirky, interesting part is that sometimes it is fine for hours and then goes into losing connection every 5 minutes or so. A few hours pass and magically fine again. All the while no other device had an issue with the WiFi / Internet.

Does your router have a WPS button? Have you tried that method?

Not to sound rude, but do you even know what you are talking about?

    Well then don't try it. I don't care. Just a suggestion. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/i...1044010AA6LOgJ

It appears that you didn't even read the answer there, which is actually incorrect in important aspects. WPS does use a pin, and is substantially flawed, to the point that it should be turned off unless you don't care about people braking into your Wi-Fi hotspot, but the end state is the transfer of the pass phrase from the router to the device. Clearly the OP's device has the pass phrase or connection wouldn't be possible at all.

Like in many other cases scrannel is the person with the answer.

I believe it can be turned on and off after you connect. Plus I think you have to push the button on the router to connect anything that way.

Anyway. Just a suggestion to see if that works any better. And if it does or doesn't can always be turned off.

Regardless good luck as you don't want to try what I suggest as I don't know what I'm talking about I won't be suggesting anything else.

Good thinking. Your time is better spent elsewhere.
