No I'm sure it will have wifi direct
There was a post on the main page about this.

Yeah I know, but the 10.2 leaks are almost nearing release and we are yet to see it working on any of the builds.
In addition, Bla1ze had recently posted what's new in 10.2 and that had a cross against the Z10 for wifi direct and Miracast
Does anyone know if the Google Chromecast is wifi-direct? It would be sick!!! If the Z10 could cast wirelessly just like my Nexus 7 2013 model, but you are correct I have yet to see a youtube video of it... I remember hearing that it was coming in 10.2 though.
We all know that Z10 will not have Miracast. Has it been confirmed that Z10 will not have Wifi Direct.

This is an excerpt from Simon Sages' post that is on the front page.
"It?s worth noting that the BlackBerry Z10 won?t be getting Miracast or Wi-Fi Direct support. Combined with DLNA support, BB10 now has a strong arsenal of wireless media sharing capabilities."

Did he update the post? When the blog was published, it said Z10 will not get the Miracast but will be getting the Wifi Direct apparently.
The lack of wifi direct must have been confirmed to him by his sources.
I read it shortly after he published it this morning. When I read your post tonight I remembered what the article said and linked to it.

Read it immediately on being published and am pretty sure it said Z10 will have the Wifi Direct "apparently". The word apparently did seem to cast a doubt and he has now confirmed it by editing the article.
Thanks for info. Got it. No Wifi-Direct on the Z10 is confirmed.
Mod can now close the thread or leave it open so people voice their disappointment. Rather have it closed. TOo much of pessimism already on the forums.
I use neither Wifi-Direct nor Miracast, so not much of a disappointment, although lost some of the expectations built during the BlackBerry Live event when the gamers were telling that Miracast will improve the gaming experience by mirroring the content on a TV.

I feel ripped off, making us buy products that are outdated, no wonder they have all that unsold stock. I bought my Z10 full priced at R7999 when it came out its now R5999 down 2000grand in less than six months...

Ay, and I felt bad buying it for R7200.
If I'm correct and you bought it as soon as it came out than your stl 100-1 supports miracast, wifi direct, fm radio and if the roadmap is correct it does support usb otg with the as of yet unreleased media dock.
But since the stl -2/3/4 don't have the correct chipset, we won't be getting it.
Unless a developer in BlackBerry is working on it and will release it to the BerryLeaks team

I never really cared about either. Don't like lag when it comes to displays, already just use the HDMI out to one of my desktop monitors and use the paired KB and mouse.

Yep I bought the STL100-1 I was first in line that day, this is basically going to make me think twice before buying another BlackBerry in fear that they do this again in the future...

Unfortunately this is price you pay by being an early adopter. Ask any of us PlayBook owners
And to clarify. I paid full price for my Z10 on launch day in the UK, so in the same boat.
