Why didn't they engineer any data arrows like I had in all my previous phones? It would be a nice indicator if my phone was actually doing anything especially when I'm on EDGE like I am on in the town where I live.

Ha ha, didn't notice that was missing until you mentioned it.
Considering how much data someone would now use on their phone, you'd constantly have the arrows blinking, and so they removed it.
It wasn't on the BB PB either.
I doubt they'll ever put it back on.

They definitely should improve their settings to enable users to see data usage though.

Yeah I could of used yesterday when my connection was goofy, I liked to be able to see if I was sending and nothing was coming back.

The arrows had a bit of purpose to them, neat little indicators. Personally I don't see a need to put them back in BlackBerry 10 but then again everyone is different, some want it some are okay with it being removed. Anybody want the hourglass back though?

I have wanted to start a thread like this. Android has an indication when data is being used. BB used to. I think it's very useful.

I suspect the old implementation was tied to BIS/BES.

I also suspect that the people at BlackBerry stripped out a lot of features either because they didn't have time to implement them, or the new OS does not support them. Since they own the OS, it's not really an excuse, is it?

I am happy with my phone, but it's a 1.0 device in a mature market.
