    Hi,
My Z10 was brilliant for years. Last year I replaced my Z10 work phone with a OnePlus3, which is going strong. My son wants my Z10 so I charged a battery and turned it on. The screen is really dark and illegible, it has ghosting and I assumed the screen was damaged. I ordered a new screen and have replaced the original with a lovely new one.. only to find it is exactly the same and even appears to have screen burn.. though the image is from when I did a hard reset last week with the old screen! Is it a video driver problem? I don't understand how the new screen would have the same blots and screen ghosts from the original one.
    Thanks
    Mark

Reload the OS? If you replaced the screen, the OS is the next on the list to try and repair.

Screens most likely do not have the hardware to drive the pixels. That's the source of the burnt pixels and ghosting perhaps...

so how do I get the screen working properly again? I suspect the graphics chip may have given up the ghost and a new mainboard ...may as well bin the phone

    Yes.

There is a chance that you were sent a defective screen, had an ipad repairs that the new screen was bad too... so it happens. If you exchange it, you could try.

But it's one thing to replace a screen on a phone you just bought for $700. It's another thing to replace the screen on a four year old phone that can be bought brand new for around $75 or refurbished for under $50 and used close to the cost of an official replacement screen.
