I got a blackberry Z10 2 and 'm trying a security wipe and it gets to about 22% before the screen blanks. I'm on round three of this; the first two times I thought the phone was off and attempted a hard reboot. The third time I did in lower light and noticed that the screen is indeed on, but just black. No shredder icon or anything.

Am I looking at an OS reload or should I just wait this one out?

    Thanks

You should use an autoloader and forget about the piece of crap software that is Security Wipe.

Do as brookie says, it'll take about 15 minutes instead of wasting three days waiting for the wipe to finish and still using the autoloader.

The Autoloader will also wipe the device in the process.

You can find the OS here:

    https://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-l...rchive-943672/

You will need to download it on a PC though.

You can find how to load it here:

Sorry if you already know this, don't forget to thank Thurask and Jaydee though.

Wait until the battery dies, then charge it back up. If a warning pops up, quote me back, because I know how to fix it.

They could just do a battery pull as it's a Z10 to test this, usually it will just start the wipe again though.

Do not pull the battery out, put the battery back in and wait until the battery dies. When you go to recharge your phone, it will think that there was a failed security wipe, therefore there will be a warning symbol with a link. Once that pops up, quote me Again.

Better yet just yank the battery out, forget about any stupid security wipe and use the autoloader. Save yourself lots of time and agony.

You could, however autoloaders are usually non official and very dangerous.

Autoloaders can ONLY be official. Hands down, it is the best way to update an OS.

An autoloader can neither be built, nor installed, with an OS that is not signed by BlackBerry.

    Plus one for this.

Stop wasting time and use an autoloader.

Did you previously use your BBID on an Android or iOS device?

If so, you have to create a new BBID on your BB10 device in order to use BBM.

Did you setup your device with a new BBID?

If not, disable BlackBerry Protect, run the autoloader again, and start with a new BBID.
