If you're playing games on your Z10, I'm quite sure 2-3 hours of battery life is normal. You see, the Z10 has been endowed with a pretty meager battery, you can't really ask for more.

Wait until the battery and charger go on sale and pick one up. You have to change it a couple times a day but at least you've got that option

the biggest drain our Z10s experience is when there's a wifi connection available that can't be connected to. eg. the wife works at a hotel with wifi for guests but staff aren't allowed to connect. It cuts battery life in half, so in that area she disables wifi for the workday.

Personally as csteinacher suggests a batterypack/charger is my solution to heavy battery drain. eg. when golfing and constantly displaying yardages. I can't quite make 18 holes with a full battery but a few minutes with the batterypack plugged in gets me through.

BB10 is power hungry. That's just normal. If you want longer battery life device without leaving your personal needs, gets other device like z30 (2880 mAh) or passport (3450 mAh).

Z10 is having 1800mAh battery capacity, so 2-3 hrs on gaming is normal.
I will suggest you to not keeping twitter, linkedIn, gmail accounts active in BlackBerry Hub., bcoz it keep refreshing for updates and it cause battery life as well as internet data.

Did you just update your OS? If you did, that battery drain is normal until the OS finishes re-indexing everything. Give it time.

Go to your email account settings and set the sync interval to 24hours. (default is 30min).
Do this for all your email accounts. You'll see a huge difference in your battery life.
Also go to device monitor and check for unusual battery usage by any app, and if you find one, delete it if it's not really useful. Although i've hardly come across any app on bb10 that does so.

And yes, playing graphic intensive games WILL reduce your battery faster and there's nothing you can do about it. As other people have said, you can't expect more from a 1800 mah battery.

I'm getting good about 9-10 hrs on battery with moderate use and remember 1400mah to 1650 mah iPhone 5/5c/5s have less than bb z10 1800 mah.

Yeah but look at his usage, his primary consumers are "regular " apps. Low power suckers if you will. I stopped playing total conquest because it was killing the battery along with background active apps like Facebook and LinkedIn. But as stated above you can change the sync relationship or intervals for these through the settings, just not for games. Watching videos will also kill it quick. Honestly use the usage monitor for a guide to what is causing the most heartache with your device. Then decide what you can live without, can't live without, and what you can limit down and how far. I'm a heavy user, But my usage is phone, music, BBM, text, documents, Crackberry, N4bb, and browser in that order. The first five account for 90% of my use. Still with 9 to 12 hours of battery. Now if I had a game in that mix or videos I'd be lucky to get 3 -5 hours.
Get a pod charger and a spare battery, you won't regret it. Plus the charger is great on the nightstand.
Also another thing to remember is "WiFi, location services, and Bluetooth" also consume power. I've taught myself to make sure WiFi and Bluetooth are turned off when not needed. Location services was not an option to turn off for me because BlackBerry Protect is directly related to it along with other features I need. Just remember Bluetooth and WiFi will continually search in the background for devices to connect to.

Well best of luck with whatever you decide to go with. Just try to get something with 2500 mah or better for a battery and I think you should be fine. Otherwise you will be back in the same boat. As far as the z30 is concerned I cannot speak from experience. But I know people that say it is fantastic. I will say though make sure that you try one out or hold one first. The display on the Z10 is one of the best displays I've seen and the Z30 is a tad bit duller to me. This might not be a deal breaker for you but bothered me enough not to upgrade to the 30.
