I am generally satisfied with my Z10. The one thing that I find the phone excels at is "sticky" one handed operation. I have the phone in black - use one hand operation all the time- and the remarkable thing is it glues itself to my hand. The balance is amazing- I test the limits - use two or three fingers lower grip- higher grip - and have never dropped the phone. It is slightly uncanny. By contrast the z30 seems tippy. By happenstance or design - it is a highly desirable feature.

By mentioning it's black and the "sticky" reference, I assume you use no case? The backing of the black Z30 has the same back material as a black Q10, which is also good for gripping comfortably.

Where the Z10 is smaller than Z30, the Z30 has more contoured edges. IIRC the Z30 is only 18% larger surface despite having a 38% larger display.

The Z30 is definitely weightier. It does have very good balance though. After a week of switching from Z10 to Z30, you don't even notice anymore. (You will still feel the difference if you put it in your pocket though!)

I did love my Z10 very much, and did as you did; spun it, flipped it, slid it.

However, the Z30 is not exactly slippery either. There definitely is a different holding style, mostly for screen accessibility, but it also sits very comfortably and controllably in my hand.

The Z10 actually feels plastic now when I pick it up, kind of toyish even. The Z30 feels like I am holding a state-of-the-art piece of electronics.

I feel the same way, Z30 looks great, but im very satisfied with my Z10, even on ATT's 10.1. Can any of you remember still being happy with a phone a year after getting it? I know this is a first for me...

The Z30 has a nice feeling back so that wouldn't hold me back. What does hold me back is that I don't see it as enough of an upgrade. The chipset is a year old, the screen is technically a downgrade, and the camera is the same. The battery life is the only pro I see but the Z30 is also grossly overpriced for what you get.

I went from q10 to z10 to z30 and I have never looked since than. Z30 is a huge improvement on my end. Minimum of 15 hours of heavy use (3 emails, fb, twitter, lots of browsing).

Z10 dies on me way too fast. As for the size was, it was a problem for me for couple days but once I got used to it. I have no problems with it now. I don't think I can ever use a smaller phone anymore to be honest.

I bought Z30 to my brother as a gift... and play a couple of hours with it (as I set it up for him)...

The Z30 is indeed snappy... but I still preferred the size of Z10... for me, it is still the perfect size for a mobile phone... not too small... not too big...

Battery life alone is worth it, makes the difference, I've only seen the phone die once after two days of browsing and downloading on all my downtime, I was worried as I was with an iPhone user but worry no more I do, conserve power need not, kinda like there is no try there is only do and the Z30 gets it done

Flicked on my Z30 or crushed on my Q5!

I really want the z30. I think the bigger screen will help much with emails texts etc. Love the glass weave too. Maybe I should.

I would only get the Z30 if I could find it for cheap. I definitely wouldn't get it on a contract. While the screen is bigger, it's technically a downgrade from the Z10's screen. IMO the only worthy upgrade is the battery, which is pretty big for some people. I personally have no problem switching out batteries on my Z10 if need be.

I'm contemplating getting a z30, I don't have any reservations other than the fact that it's barely less expensive than a Galaxy Note 3, and considering how far the Z10 has fallen in worth, BlackBerry stands to thoroughly mess up my "never actually pay for new devices as long as you sell your old ones in less than a year" plan. If the Z30 drops in price dramatically like the Z10 has, I'm out a lot of money. Who knows if the Z50 rumor is true or not, I just can't really accept how expensive the Z30 is for what you get. I realize the die hards wouldn't ever buy anything else, but for anyone on the fence, I just don't see why anyone would get the Z30. I'm out $400 on the Z10, the most I've ever lost on a device. I don't really want to leave the hub and keyboard behind but I'm ready for a larger screen, the fact that the z30 is low ppi and low res isn't helping the argument either, nor the fact that many developers aren't supporting the model at all in BBW, nor the fact that what's keeping the price artificially high is the near total unavailability of the device in the USA. At $500 the Z30 is really insanely overpriced.

You know the Moto X? Its GPU is 2 times better than Z30s and on Android it functions not that different compared to other single-core GPU Android phones. Don't mention specs these days since it will never be enough.

Anyway for me the Z30 has painfully ugly design, the processor is not that good and I'm one of the biggest anti-fan of AMOLED screen, those are deal-breakers. Waiting for the Z50 then...

I've made the switch from Z10 to Z30, and I too struggled with the decision of making the switch, the price, the screen resolution, hardware, should I wait for the next device...etc. I'm the type of person that won't stop thinking about it until I make a decision, so I made a decision and it was the right decision for me.

I've read many negative comments regarding the Z30, but they typically (if not all) come from those who have not made the switch. Once you've made the switch those reservations all go away, and if your like me, you will become addicted to the Z30, I can't put this thing down.

Yeah its funny mate since for me I used to hate the z10 over the z30 while using both phones, I loved the back cover and the comfortable feeling z30 brings over the z10, camera is totally the same

But then i switched to a typical big-screen android device (sony that is), and realize how ugly and flimsy the plastic on the z30 is imo (at least compared to that sony phone), then ended up understanding I just need a typical phone in my pocket, not a phablet, sold those 2 and returned to z10.

Hmm....now that the Z30 has been dropped to $99/ 2yr contract, I'm running out of excuses....a few other points from my personal experience; as far as price, it seems to me that the z30 is very similar spec wise to the Droid Maxx, which were released only a few months apart. I was very interested in this phone, but not for the $299/contract price tag that it originally came out with. The z30 came out at $199/contract. The Droid Maxx is still $199/contract and $499 off contract. The z30 is $549 off contract. The screen on the z30 seems darker to me than the z10 because of the AMOLED screen, but it's larger size allowed me to see more. I did think the z10 screen was more crisp and had better colors though. My "test" was watching HQ official movie trailers on YouTube. The sound quality of the Z30 blew away the Z10, and I've been pretty content with the sound quality on the Z10. The sound quality more than offsets any very minor screen quality reservations I may have with the Z30. I wish they would have stuck with the same screen technology as the Z10. Then it would be a no brainer....one final potential issue is "pocketabilility". My Z10 works well for me, I'm loathe to give it up especially with the 10.2.1 update....however, I could get the z30 and pass my z10 on to my son who is tired of his RAZR HD....hmmm...

Yes again, I used to think Z30's screen is gorgeous, but after putting it side by side with a Note 3, it is clear that 1080P is noticeably better than 720P.

That being wait, I still think Z30's screen is completely acceptable though.

I used several AMOLED devices, used to be a big fan of oversaturated screen LOL and it scares the hell out of me now. They all have deadly burn-in problem after just one year of using, and I dont feel like seeing my z30 screen start to die day after day, thats why its not mine anymore LOL
