    With no activity, after boot up, it seems to develop a hotspot adjacent to sd card and then full shut down. Nothing has been changed on this unlocked STL100-3 in months. Sim and SD have been installed the whole time. Also, tried two different LS1 batteries... always a 5 min shutdown. Started just today.

    Back up the device. Remove any android apps installed one by one and reboot. Is the problem resolved? If not do a destructive OS reinstall.

    If it still overheats I would believe the device is gone.

    Just before doing a destructive OS instsll try removing the SD card to see if that makes any difference.
