It sounds to me like a battery problem. I suggest getting a couple off ebay or amazon and seeing if that makes a difference.

With the phone ON, forcefully slap it into your other hand/palm. If it goes off/reboots, the battery is probably loose. Shim it with some paper or business card to keep the battery firmly in place.

If not, as suggested it could be your battery is worn out and answering or even the ringing might be quickly draining the battery.

If it's a battery problem, I recommend getting a new phone. It's not worth to spend anything on z10, its getting ridiculous now.

It's not even worth $5.25 for a new battery with free shipping? It's better to spend a few hundred on a new device?

Why would one throw away an otherwise perfectly functioning device for the sake of an eight dollar battery?

Before doing anything else, I would try the solution posted by F2. In the early days, a loose battery was not uncommon.

Yes, too much unreliable z10 stl 01!
I purchased it a few months ago so cannot change mine, but never again BlackBerry!
My phone shuts down at any random battery percentage(caliberation works for just a day)
And I don't have time to caliberate it every couple of days. Secondly if I post any problems, I get reply use autoloaders! Again a waste of few hours of using BlackBerry!

Was having this issue with my 100-3. Piece of business card shimming the bottom of the battery stopped it.

Replacing the battery and/or making sure the battery makes contact didn't work for you? Or did you listen to the autoloader advice and just try it again and again, knowing full well it wouldn't fix things? Are you installing stable OS versions for STL100-1, which is a hardware variant that's not like most Z10's?

Does it happen when you put it down a little harder then normal? I found outing a piece of paper between your back cover and battery to help tighten it. Cheap fix before you buy another battery for no reason
