I've always wondered all this. I refrain from buying an app just due to uncertainty if it will work.

Wallpaper Changer HD doesn't work on my Q10. Sent a mail to the dev but no answer yet.
CB10 - Q10
I agree. I hate buying something only to find it's not exactly what I need.

Google's playstore for Android has a 15 minute trial period for all paid apps and games, within that period, you can click 'refund' and the app/game is uninstalled and your cash back in your account - BlackBerry need this feature.

He hangs around these forums a lot - maybe find the thread and post there?

You cant do trials anymore. RIM removed the feature from appworld.

So it was there at a time? Never noticed it
Many apps will release free versions with ads or less features. That's about as close as you can get for this. Its the developer's call on thia.
I know it's the same policy the Apple store uses

I think the trial period is a great idea. Your customers have spoken...get it done BlackBerry! Who are the customers, the app developers or the app buyers?BlackBerry should cater a little more to the buyers and then the developers will conform.

I agree with OP. Current incentives for developers of paid apps are a catchy title, cool description and 5 star ratings from a few of their friends.
If all paid apps come with at least one day free trial, then only quality apps will rise to the top.
Sent via CB10 and Z10. :)
I'd even be willing to fill out a feedback questionnaire to receive the refund.

Like I already posted. There is a refund link in the email you receive after purchasing an app.
Its totally not as polished as Androids in house refund button. But that wasnt always the way. Give app world some time. In the mean time, use the refund link provided.
Seriously? So I buy an app at say 5GBP and find it's rubbish then I have to contact the Dev who refuses to refund the app.
Google may be evil but they let you trial purchases.

You need a valid reason to request a refund, and only if the Dev hasn't/can't/or won't fix the issue or respond.

I'm not sure thus is true. I know I've seen free trials recently.

No,
The Dev can't refund you. You have to ask RIM to refund you.

An app posted for free isn't a free trial.
There used to actually be a trial option for developers to use. That would auto induce payment to continue.
Now we need to post apps for free and move them to paid - which angers folks because we impact everyone at once.
Or we have to due free *basic* versions. They removed the try before you buy.

And BlackBerry will only refund you if you can't work out the issue with the Dev.

Add a refund button as well

Usually I just say it doesn't work - I've removed it - please refund.
Worked everytime so far.

Just want to say I agree and would like to also note that if you install an app then give it a bad review which I generally do in good faith to the helps other users. I have discovered that when you uninstall the app your review dissappears
I think it should stay for at least a certain amount of time to help other people.
Posted via CB10
It should stay permanently. What the heck?
I've wanted RIM and now BlackBerry to offer this option for years! Yes, some apps are only $0.99, but it all adds up after a while...

There. Ask for your refund and be done with it. They are actually quite fast to process these.
