Because you didn't buy an Android Device....

A good percentage of Android Apps should work..... those that require Google Service, or that needed to download database files don't tend to work. But about 70% or so should work just fine.

Post the names of the Apps you are having problems with... there maybe workarounds.

Some Android apps may make a hardware specific function call which the BlackBerry may not have.
Others may require extra services, like Google Play or Amazon services, running on the device. It is up to those companies to make a service app compatible for a BlackBerry, but it seems they have no interest in doing so.
If an app wont work on a BlackBerry, its up to the app maker to write a BlackBerry version of the app.

Some programers can "hack" apps or service to make them work on a BlackBerry, but it is hit or miss and you would have to trust the "hacker" to create a working app that isn't really some trojan.

Remember, the BB10 device runs Android apps within a "sand box" inside of the BB10 shell. For security reasons, that sand box doesn't have full access to the BB10 OS and hardware.
Think of the sand box as an emulator, a program designed to run software that is not compatible with the host operating system, like a Play Station emulator for a Windows PC, it can do a lot of things and run a lot of the Play Station games, but it isn't a Play Station.

Don't think of it as a Sandbox, you are only kidding yourself. Most Android Apps have all the permissions (contents, documents, email, phone ....) they could want to access your data and distributed it to the world.... if that function was intended Very well might be likely if you use some 3rd party app store from China where the app has been slightly altered from the Google Play version.

    1) Never assume that because you have a BlackBerry that is is secure.
    2) Never download apps from other than legitimate sources.
    3) Never install the wrong app - you want Instagram, but download "App for Instagram".
    4) Know what the app you are downloading is trustworthy... hard to do.
    5) If it is a native app - limit it's permissions.
    6) If it is an Android App - hope that soon you will be able to limit it's permissions.

The BlackBerry Runtime has a lot more access to the rest of your device than most PC type emulators. Hate how hard it is to move file with Hyperv.
