I'd like to see it built into the OS instead of having to have a app left in active frames to see my percentage being a heavy user + max screen brightness and still no spare battery yet it'd be nice to see a way to enable a numbered percentage in the corner.

Same reason I always modified my Android devices because minus touchwiz on the Galaxy S3 all other phones stock didn't have it built in either

    Great thoughts.

How did u pull off setting one pic as yr bg

Go to Super bar settings, choose wallpaper and disable rotation.

Also as others have stated BB10 does not currently allow apps to run in the background so developers currently have no choice but to run apps in active frames for dynamic content. That will be coming in a future update

Here is a screen shot of my Z10 using Wallpaper Changer HD, integrated Z Theme with battery percent and weather in the super bar.

    Could Care Less............
The saying is, "I could NOT care less." If you COULD care less, it means you still care some, and therefore have yet to reach the limit of your ability to care.

Displaying the battery charge level percentage within the battery icon in the status bar would be very handy. I would like to see the current date (for example, Wednesday 3 April 2013) added to the status bar just below the current time (already displayed).
Date is there just need to pull down to see.

Maybe someone could make a theme which would have the percentage on the screen. Not a make or break for me. When the icon turns yellow, it is time to plug in.

I used Z Theme and set the various color options for icons etc. I then chose the simple21 wallpaper from the Wallpaper Changer HD app wallpapers, selected integrate with WC HD+ which allowed me to export it and then in WC HD choose themes, and select use theme.

Yeah trying to figure out if that partially filled battery means 15% or 25% can be important if you're without a backup battery or charger!

To each his own, but the advantage to using an app for this is that an app developer is more likely to be more responsive to changes and additional feature requests than the OS developer. Having the function in the OS would also require OS updates for new functionality which are not likely to use as frequent as app updates.

Your deff right I agree with ya, but just need a simple Os battery percentage that can be turned on or off no really need of updates for it

Meh. I guess it would be nice to have, but I can get the info easily enough through checking out the hardware info under settings, so it's not really near the top of the priority list for me.
Thanks I just learned Something new

And if they can get the IQ up to 110 after that, they can upgrade from an iPhone to a pair of tin cans and a string.

CMIIW but I thought this 'functionality' has never been there? I came from Bold 9700 on OS5 and the only way to check battery percentage is always by looking inside the options>status

They have the monitoring functionality, they simply decided not to implement it. If they do, I think it's much better to have the numbers replace the picture.

In BlackBerry's defense, maybe they don't want you to focus on the percentage left on your battery. Plus, if your device gets below X %, doesn't the device notify you anyway?

  24. PJLips's Avatar
That would be nice to have, but you can always check it in Settings => About => Hardware (in the drop down menu).
And let's be honest, what difference does it make if you have a bar or a percentage?
