You probably have a lot of storage-hog games like Asphalt 7 or Real Racer. Nothing else would take that much

Yup had asphalt7, real racing3, and ironman3... but it says i used up 15gb "other" memory.

Admittedly I had many sideloaded apps but these are in MB each, not even 100MB.

Other data is app data. It all adds up. Even if it is under 100MB ten apps and your near a gig

Hi guys, I had the same problem as well, but traced it to an unusually bloated "android" folder. I don't have that many Android apps, and the few that I do certainly don't warrant 10GB worth of storage. Any idea what's happening here?

That is perfectly normal. The incorrect storage consumption count occurs because there are what are called "symbolic links" in the Android folder. These are the identical folders you'll see that are both capitalised and un-capitalised, and the OS sees them as actual folders, even though they are just links to real folder in the root directory. They need to be there because Android uses a slightly different filesystem than BB10, and some Android applications won't work correctly if the file system is not laid out this way.

Leave it the way it is and don't worry about it.

I have the same question. I have showing, just over 5 gig in the "other data" section. 3 side loaded apps. But my Android folder is only 2mb. What all does "other data" pertain to?

I decided to do backup, security wipe and restore just for the sake of it. Damn security wipe took more than 2hrs to finish, added the backup and restore process also took almost an hour. Anyway, after doing the whole thing, i got around 4gb more than before the wipe. (before restoring my freshly wipe z10 has only 11gb free space)
