Whenever I send pictures to my contacts they always seem to get the picture all pixilated and low quality. Is there a specific setting to avoid or restore it?

No. It's with SMS. I was wondering if having it on MMS or SMS had something to do with it.

Carriers resize the images if it is over their limit. You can't do anything about it. You can however send it by other methods, such as email, Facebook, Twitter, bbm (the contact then can request higher quality), dropbox, image hosting website, etc.
