MAX here, too. I love that gorgeous, bright screen!!! My battery never lasts a full day but that's ok. I'm a stay at home mom and can pop it on a charger throughout the day.

I've been experimenting. It certainly isn't like the 9900, which was fine at the very lowest setting. I'm finding that about 66% works fine in most lighting conditions. I had it at 50% for a while but found that to be just a little too dim. I know there was some discussion about hardware variations and whether some screens were just less bright than others. I think I should try to search for some of those threads.

I keep mine around 60% most of the time. I do turn it up or down depending on the lighting though.

100% with screen lock timeout at 20 seconds.

I turn the brightness down about 50% when using bedside mode so that the orange glow of the clock is dimmer. I wish bedside mode had it's own brightness setting.

Does it make your phone hotter? Literally.

The only time I detected any heat at all from the Z10 was when doing transfer of the data from my old 9700's 32gb SDSC card to the new Z10's 64gb SDXC. I had both on the PC via USB. I have not detected heat from running at max brightness.

My 9800 would automatically go into the clock mode when I plugged it in to charge at night. My Z10 doesn't. Is there a setting to make that happen?

No, unfortunately, not yet. There is no setting for a time in which plugging the phone in automatically puts it in bedside mode. We have to swipe down from the top or from setting within the clock.

I never had to change the setting from 75%. GLO works just as BlackBerry said it would.

If there was one thing I hated on the 9780 (and the PlayBook, 8520 and the 8310 for the matter) was the screen dimming and brightening up on me.

You know, it's odd but it seems that when I'm using the phone in dim light the setting that looks fine in daylight isn't bright enough. I'd expect the opposite, to need less brightness in dim ambient light. That's how it was on my Android.

Did you notice any difference? I always kept mine at 50% but put it to minimum and it didn't seem to make any changes to battery life. I did read that if you go over 50% that's when you really notice a battery drain.

I used to always keep mine at the lowest setting because I was so frustrated with battery life. I still ran out of juice at inconvenient times so I bit the bullet and bought the battery bundle. I'm a changed man. Now I keep my screen at maximum and just use the extra battery when the juice runs out, which ironically is not as much sooner ad I'd have expected. I hate compromise. Always have always will. Carrying the slim extra battery around is a very small price to pay for having a gorgeous bright screen.

If I put mine at around 50% it starts to get hot. I just discovered this as I always kept my phone at the minimum brightness hut once I upped it, the phone got pretty damn hot.

Mine is all the way down. It's still bright enough for phone calls, facebook and messages. So i usually can keep it three or four days without charging (I always turn it off at nighttime)
