    What country are you in? I just opened it (US) and am upgrading a program it had available.

    Try a restart:

    Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black (ignore the screenshot), keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

    If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

    He can't open it, so he can't get to the settings to refresh

    Try F2's suggestion OP, generally solves the problem

    Mine too if I am on WiFi. So I have to turn wifi off, open the app, then turn wifi back on.

    You might find mention of some in the apps or apps announcement subforums. A new one appeared today but a bit pricy. Or you can ask in a thread in those places. The subject of this thread will not get you much of an answer.
