One of the main reasons I got rid of my iPhone was because I didn't like iTunes.
But I am now seeing that BlackBerry Link is even worse. It still uses either iTunes or Windows Media Player to sync music folders.
Why can't I add music natively on Link?

Why can't I add music directly to Link? Why does it have to sync with either iTunes or Windows Media?

You don't have to sync with iTunes or Windows media player. You would normally have your BBLink sync a certain folder on your computer to the music on your blackberry. Say 'z10 music', then whatever music you put in that folder would sync to your blackberry if you had that option turned on. Do you sort of get it now?

They both suck and I think both software packages need some major improvements.

I still think windows media player is the best, I just pop my sd card into my computer, windows media player treats it as a device I can sync to, then press sync and puts all my new music on it!

I just got an SD card for my Z10. I'll have to try that.
But does the player on the Z10 recognize the SD card as a music source to play from?

Oh yes, all of my music is on my sd card. In fact so everything else. My device storage is basically empty. The Z10 can use the sd card for everything, it's excellent. I have the 64gb sandisk micro sd.

Why would you manually add music to Link, while you can just drag and drop it to the Z:/ station within your PC's File Explorer?

Becuase the music player on my Z10 wasn't recognizing any play lists I created if I just dropped music into the folder without using Link. It just bunched all the songs together on one big play list. The only way I could create different play lists was to use Link, which meant I had to create the play list in iTunes first

if you save in the folder the .m3u (playlist file) that you created with media-player or iTunes you don't have any problem.
You can also modify the playlist with the BB (if you want ) and reload all the changes in iTunes or media-player.

I don't think there is any debate on this one. BB Link is absolutely terrible. If you use an iPhone iTunes works well. BB Link doesn't work well with a Blackberry. It's pathetic that RIM saw it suitable to release this trash.
