That's normal, I really wouldn't worry about your internal temp you'll know if it's too hot... If you really are looking for a quantitative answer, it is not as straightforward as x degrees there are many other factors...

While I play games for a longer period of time, the temperature of my Z10 is 42C.

    Don't think that will happen!!!
The Phone is so designed to switch off it self if it reaches a critical temperature value. So don't worry about it.

    From Wikipedia:
Soft solder is typically thought of when solder or soldering is mentioned, with a typical melting range of 90 to 450 C (190to 840F).
If you're worried about heat, it's the solder on the PCBs you should be concerned about.

180 to 190 degrees Celsius, not 90 to 180. I'm Over 61,been soldering since age 9. That's 356-374 degrees F...no need to worry about our Motherboard Z10 connections melting due to hot batteries.

Most electronics shouldn't be operated in ambient temps above 40C or below 0C. Battery temp stats like you see are okay. It's normal they get above 40 time to time. Above 45 and that's quite high, but that's just your battery, not your other components.

My phone got super hot one night. It was plugged in for an hour and I noticed that the screen protector had a weird coloring to it and radiating rainbow colors from the center of the discoloration. I picked it up and it was too hot to touch in places and had not charged one bit. I unplugged it and rebooted and let it cool for an hour. The screen protector returned to clear after a few minutes. I plugged it back in with no access heat after that but no when my screen is white I can see ripples in the coloration under the glass, almost like whatever is under the glass is warped... I have insurance, should I file a claim or would they laugh at me?

Your battery will get damaged from heat long before any other components. It won't show up as total failure, just reduced capacity.

Probably. Just reporting the warnings I see on most consumer electronics, smartphones and tablets specifically. They all say not to operate past 0C and 40C on the safety manuals. (Ambient temp).

I start to get worried any time that it's above 40. I think 44 is the highest I've seen it, and I just stopped using it just in case

I don't recommend anyone else trying this, but my previous blackberry's have been used in a sauna quite often and my Z10 has been in there 2-3 times without issue. The room runs 170-200F.

Isn't the Z10 slim enough? Lol. Be careful. That's probably not good for the life of the phone..the internal speaker and parts..

Honestly, never do that again lol. You WILL screw it up sooner rather than later. That heat mixed with humidity is seriously bad.

I'm sure you're right, but it never killed my 9800 or 9810 and I expect the Z10 to be able to hold its own. It's a dry sauna so there's no humidity, and I expect the battery to explode before the phone gives out anyway.

Just in case your Z10 does not survive one of the 'sauna sessions': do not forget to write in forum, how disappointed you are with the poor quality of Z10, because it died after you played Asphalt 7: Heat in an environment with temperature 98 Celsius (208F) (such post would even beat few other posts around where people complain they can't use their Z10s with shattered screens).
