Better (user) control over apps and android ports silently running services and processes in the background...killing the battery and compromising security.

I'm not sure if this has been posted already 'cause I'm not gonna read through 33 pages just to check but I would love to have a toggle for switching data on and off. Like please BlackBerry

For 10.2 or even an immediate update, a data usage summary. This especially important because of the vast data drain apparently "Inherent" to the 10.xx. Android has a great quick summary Berry should replicate somehow. See attached.

How about installing an on/off switch to enable us turn off nginx when we want to conserve battery? Or better yet, retool the Development Mode On/Off switch to also launch that little http server on our devices when we want to sync/connect with BBLink?

An ssh daemon with that's inactive/cpu load @ 0% on the iPhone still manages to sip away at the battery as observed by many outside this forum. I can also attest to this fact myself. Having less processes running in the background can also free up ram which can also be seen as another benefit.

Doing 'pidin' on bb10 shows how ridiculous BlackBerry's implementation of running the number of services it is compared to the iPhone when looking at 'ps aux'. Yes these little things matter and people know that Apple doesn't cut corners when it comes down to any facet of engineering whether it's hardware or software. The iPhone 4S has just 512MB and theoretically runs similar processes in the background and leaves the user with 210MB available memory. Since the iPhone 5S has been upgraded with 1GB, that would mean the user now has 790-800MB left over for use. This means ram usage on iPhone 5 is at 800/1000GB = 80% available for use and BlackBerry's Z10 comes out to be 1GB/2GB = 50% available efficiency. That's a 30% difference despite the Z10 having double the memory capacity of the iPhone 5 at the hardware.

The attachment below includes the number of processes currently running on my iPhone 4S with only 512MB ram. My Z10, from while back, however, has 2GB of ram and yet, user available ram, at boot, consistently hovers at around 1GB available and even with all apps closed out. Now we must ask what is it in BlackBerry 10 that which requires so many things to run in the background? It wouldn't be surprising if a connection can also be made to the jitter effects experienced at the UI level.

Likewise, if so many processes are running, wouldn't that limit the quality of BlackBerry 10 development in the future? With 2GB ram on the Z10, and for the woo effect, I'd like to have my active frame icons display my movie being played, in realtime at the active frame screen, just like what Mac OS X does when a movie is being minimized to the dock for instance. It's a RTOS indeed; with threading issues, you see how that can also cause the jitter affects? Now compare the number of processes running in the background between both iOS and BB10 and judge for yourself whether Thor needs to lay his hammer in the software engineering room.

    iPhone 4S/512MB

Please get rid of the camera shutter sound! And if that's not possible, at least get rid of the sound when taking screenshots! I don't like drawing attention to myself each time I screenshot something and my friends asking why I'm taking photos of my crotch.

Yeah a visual notification of successful screen shot is a better idea.

Ok, i think this one is really important : the ability to have a lefthand mode which reverses the whole operation of the screen. Shouldn't take too much to do & would really help the lefties out there! I don't know if it's available on other platforms but it could be a killer function for BlackBerry.

For the nitpickers: i am specifically referring to an aid for one handed use (which i do all the time on my Z.) i am not suggesting reversing the layout of the Keyboard or photos/pictures, only the swipe function and on screen buttons (particularly in games) lefthand hub access is a no brainer.

Remember on OS6 when you were replying to a message, and while replying you would receive another message, there was a pop up somewhere showing the new message. So I think they should bring that back to OS10. Like while replying there could be a pop up on top of the screen were you could click on it and then reply to the message!

One feature I really miss in the camera app is a spirit level (I don't know if this is the right word, in Germany we call it water balance). On my Ricoh Digital Camera I've got an indicator that shows me, whether my picture is horizontally aligned or not. Because the Z10 has an gyroscope this should be easy to be added.

A panorama option on the camera with also be nice! And a full drop down setting menu from the home page!

How about full landscape support? I love that about the PlayBook. Doesn't seem like that should be something that's so challenging... just turn my icons when I flip my phone to the side!

For 10.2 or even an immediate update, a data usage summary. This especially important because of the vast data drain apparently "Inherent" to the 10.xx. Android has a great quick summary Berry should replicate somehow. See attached.

If you can see the clock, just touch it.

'Swipe' from the top. Why? Touch the clock.
