Hey folks. My battery drains so so rapidly on my z10. Even after 10.3 update. It's been two days. However even before I noticed under device monitor my system fluctuates anywhere for. 35% to once I seen 95%.

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. And yes I try to always close my apps down when done.

Because I've put in a new charged battery an hour ago and right now my battery sits at 66%.

Any app out their that can help find the corporate. Under device monitor it shows my other apps that I do use but they are all all under 10 % most are under 5%.

    Thx in advanced.

    Cheers.

Ps: tried to fix/edit the 2 averages in the title but don't know how.

Mine is only at 11% "since last charge". But if I go to 48hrs it jumps up to 45%....

Have you done the whole hard reset then charge to full stuff?

A lot of us had this, mine did it for the first 12h of 10.3.1, I rebooted it a few times then charged it fully and left it over night, I woke up next day and it had pretty much sorted itself out, my system was on 70%+ pretty much all the time over them 12h.

The "current cpu" should idle at about 4-7% (if you aren't doing anything else other than looking at your device monitor). That's the only number that really matters.

You've got to have some function running wild. But you are saying that everything is under 10% - take a snap of your resources at the lowest % point of your current system state so we can see or spot what may be an issue.
I'm on a Z10 - STL-3 (10.3.1) and emails + BBM + WhatsApp some phone are my avg use but I can get about 14-16hrs daily off charger out of mine since update or about a 12% improvement with latest OS.

I think this may be an issue with the most recent update.
My phone has been fine, but two people I know with z10s have been having issues with system eating their battery at an alarming rate over the past few days.

I've had them both hard reset their phones. One also seemed to have issues with android apps not getting their own listing in the device manager and I'm wondering if they might be counted towards system usage.

Hard reset with the volume up and down buttons?

I've done a few battery pulls while swapping out batteries. Will the other reset make any difference?

    Cheers

You could be right on this.
So far the 4 people I have helped with Z10 and overheating / battery drain have all had Android related apps eating away. Facebook Android version was case for 3 of them and another was a Game (can't recall the name).

What is your idle CURRENT cpu rate? Again, it's the only number that matters.

Right now it's at 9.9% on current cpu.

That's pretty good. If you keep monitoring for a few more minutes, see if it will drop a titch more. If it gets under 7 at any time, then all is well. Battery use at that point is simply a function of what you're doing on the phone (running apps, etc). Low idle means the OS is stable and PIM syncing is under control. There would be nothing left you could do.

As I have sooo many applications downloaded. Is there any possible way to see which of my apps are android ones? This way I just want to get rid of them for now and only run BlackBerry apps to see if that fixes my battery issue.

    Cheers

You'll know when you run them. Look for the Android back button on the bottom.

Hi, I'm new to the thread and I reread all posts. No hard reset yet, only a normal: battery drained, rebooted. Im posting Screenshots of the device monitor over a couple of minutes [the Current usage!]. It's the System and the Android Player which scares me here:

Any thoughts, what's going on there?

EDIT: no Android app is running among the 8 thumbnails.

Typically you will see this for the first 5-10 minutes after a reboot, but then things should settle. If you're not running any other apps, your Android Player should go to 0%, and System should idle at 5-7%.

Many Android apps run services in the background. It is possible that one of them is not behaving. I would try deleting your Android apps to see if the issue is resolved. If it still isn't, you will have to run a security wipe, because the Android Runtime is having problems initializing.

The last reboot was yesterday. I didn't delete the Android apps yet.

After I posted the previous message, I rebooted and the device stabilised (20+ minutes): System 6-15% and Android Player <1%.

So, it's after starting a specific (or any) Android app.

Well that's good news. Now you just have to find which app isn't closing properly after you run it.

Many Android apps have running background services that you can't stop. But normally that doesn't significantly affect CPU (just a bit of battery drain). But one of your apps is misbehaving.
