Call blocking apps will be more feasible when API's are introduced in 10.2. There's an SMS blocker but it requires an active frame.

    Z10? Why yes it is.

10.2 will bring "headless apps" api and an api that allows for the phone app to be modified. So we should get an app like that by the end of the summer...support just isn't there yet, sorry.

Go to Security Settings and enable Parental Controls and allow only incoming calls from numbers stored in your Contacts List. No more solicitations...

I'm with Bell Canada and they now have a SMS blocker service directly at the provider. I put the numbers I want to block in a list and it's done... it would filter out junk and all messages from my blocked list. I wish they can do that for calls too.

I use parental controls as a workaround. Unfortunately it does not allow you to block specific numbers, just lets you block all numbers that aren't in contacts. It's generally good but it has turned out to be inconvenient sometimes

At Verizon, call blocking is available in your account; you can define in your online account up to 5 numbers for 90 days for free. With a monthly fee you can buy this feature with various privileges.

Add the numbers you want blocked to a new contact named Ignore and turn off all rings/notifications for that contact. Calls will still come through but you won't know it until the next time you pick up the phone.

Problem then is I have some friends and relatives that use unknown name so this is not an option. Also some doctors and other medical places use unknown number.

Rogers has had this sms blocking for years now, but no call blocker I not sure why no provider has this as it should be made by them as they provide the freaking phone service.

I usually change my number once sometimes twice a year to avoid this crap calling.

Because Rogers doesn't want customers blocking their collection and "sell you more stuff" calls

As gar as I know, no. It won't even ring. I think my grandma said something about that the call could not be completed at this time. But she is german, so I don't know if she understood it correctly. Thing is I did not get a missed call notification or voice mail notification. I don't wanna lie about what happens, fact is it never rang and I was completely unaware of the attempted call.

If you get hub++ it will vibrate briefly (if vibrate is on) and the led notification will go on when your phone blocks a call. Won't tell you who called but at least you know when you missed one

I'm tired of buying apps. This feature should include in bb 10 phone by default. If they have an option to block all incoming calls in z10, why can't they have a feature to block specific phone numbers? I hope they include it in 10.2 or 10.3.
