I think the biggest problem we have the poor application support and availability, i really hate how android sandbox works on my bb z10, so much buggy, best solution for improving is to start forcing developers like viber and line etc.. support our bb10 os

    Using BB Z10 10.2.1.537

Exactly! They should have the same apps that Andriod has. What Android can, BB should do. Please BB do this for us to stay woth your products.

Google store 5 years in the making, BB10, barely one year. Android apps are the best way to close the app gap until BB10 can gain more traction. Devs want users, users want apps, whole chicken and egg thing

First of all, BBRY cannot force developers to develop for the platform. Second, BBRY do not have the resources of a Microsoft to throw money at developers without guarantees of apps development and continued updates. You are assuming that throwing money at devs means getting apps developed. It really isn't that simple.

    Who is we?

OK. Take away android apps and the player. Now the developers will come. Crickets!

Now everyone has even less choices.

    Force them? How?

    Not going to happen.

While laggy I like my Netflix Droid app and use it daily along with Rain Alert and two or three other apps.

Title of this thread should not say "we" but simply "I".

Please do not speak for me.

Having the option to run Android apps makes things that much easier. The BlackBerry 10 experience is great, but most apps are missing. I prefer native apps, but hey, if they are available now via Android it seems like a win win. While more apps become available, I will delete their Android counterpart. Most apps are just an Android port to BB10 anyways.

LOL... I'm scared to ask, but where are you getting your Android apps?

is that even possible? thought Android apps run within some sort of a constrained environment and viruses can't get through to the BB system.

could be false positive detections, any gurus to confirm?

I left android for BlackBerry, had a Curve 9300. The 9320 followed.

I loved the fact that I had this wonderful gift of the Z10, and until now have enjoyed using the phone. But....I can't help feeling that by incorporating android we are losing our roots.

I haven't done the latest update, and won't be doing it. The newest Curve will be back in use soon as my communication device which holds my email accounts etc....and I'm one of the many who's email accounts won't stay in the Z10 without daily requests for passwords.....and the Z10 will become my browsing tablet.

I understand things have to move forward, but android isn't a direction I wish to go in.
