Always try to charge from 1% or 2% to fully 100% instead of 35% or 25% to 100%

Actually from what I gather from the BlackBerry website and other threads, it's best not to let your battery drop to such low levels. I think its the same for any lithium battery.

Some phones brick if you really drain the battery. That is where this "don't drain the battery" thing took off. It is not a problem on the z10 nor any BlackBerry I am aware of. But the % left in the battery leaves some reserve.

If you really want to extend the life of the battery, you would have to not fully charge it either. That is what they do on hybrid cars. But the BlackBerry battery is really cheap. About $11 if you shop around.

    -Turn off swipe to unlock.

    -Set emails to sync manually.

-Check apps and make sure they don't automatically sync at the background too often.

    -Close unused active frames.

    -Turn off unused connections.

On an LCD screen, the colours on the screen won't really affect the battery life.

So hard to do haha when I hit 25% I'm plugging it in haha. Especially when I'm out at night and I find a charger near me, I hate wasting time

Drain out your battery completely. Let the phone turn off. Then charge using PC instead of BlackBerry charger to 100%. If it doesn't go up to 100% level, unplug the cable and reinsert it after few minutes to charge the battery to 100% level.
But try it once only, it helps in battery calibration.
I've tried and seen the improvement.
And don't forget to turn off BlackBerry Link unless required...

You have a lot of play time at 25%. You will get notifications at 20% and 10%. Beyond 10% you get the flashing red LED.

I'm not sure why people think the PC charge, that is limited to half an amp, gives more capacity than the BlackBerry charger, which usually tops off at 1.3 amps. The battery current tapers a bit. I'm on 10.1, so all I can do is look at the engineering screen.

The advice to fully discharge is an old myth hold over from the NiCad battery days. Modern Lithium ion batteries don't need to be run down to zero. It was even damaging to NiCad, but was a way to fix a battery that had the memory effect.

The calibration issue is a software problem mainly. Not that you can't have a battery that is failing too...
