Have you done a hard reset on your device (or battery pull?) The button appears to physically work if skipping works, so no need to worry there.

Only volume up works to skip songs not volume down.

Done two battery pulls, nothing yet.

Hard reset? What exactly is that?

I've had this problem a while ago. I got rid of it by holding down both volume buttons until the white BlackBerry logo displays.

It seems you have a hardware problem with your volume down button. I think it's dead from what you said in your posts. Do you still have a warranty? If yes, replace it.

If not, there are some people in these forums that know how to dissemble the phone and replace parts. Have a Moderator close this thread, start a new one and ask for help with replacing the volume button.

I don't recall details and I hope I'm not indicating an app when it was another. But some app did interfere with either the Vol Up or Down. And it may have been SayIt????? Anyone else recall??

Try it the volume buttons test and see if it detects your volume down button as working

Virtual expert showing volume down isn't working. Will try to figure it out.

Is this fixable myself, take apart z10 check if connectors good or take to store and replace volume button?

Totally forgot about this thing since 10.2, deleted the app immediately because of the device monitor! Good one.

You could start a new thread asking about this specific issue. There are people here very experienced in taking apart a Z10. If you have no experience in doing this, I would not recommend you take it apart on your own account.

You'd be better off taking it to the store and have the button replaced if the cost for that isn't too huge.

I know what you mean lol
What's cool, is that it is actually integrated into the device itself within the help app. Just do a search for BlackBerry Virtual Expert in the main search, choose the help app and you'll find it there
Not sure why it's hidden so deep, but it's there in the OS.

It's so crazy how many features are hidden or just not advertised. Just like the keyboard functions in the browser and too many other features.

I think the button is dead but would then volume down function work with headphones button/remote. Ie. Beats by dre or iPhone headphones

I tried many different headphones and volume down function doesn't work.. this issue seems to be both hardware and software maybe?

Anyone experience this. My only option to turn volume down is to go into settings and do it via main volume options

I have never tried a headset with volume control so I don't know if they work. However, the volume down button on your headset should work fine if the volume up button works as well.

If you're playing music from the Music App you can swipe down to reveal the playlist. A volume bar will appear on top.
