My Verizon z10 is causing my speakers to buzz when it's nearby. I've already tried putting some ferrite beads, but I'm stilling getting some buzzes.

I will NOT be sticking my phone in an electrostatic bag, that's about as helpful as just turning the thing off.

Any other solutions? Anyone know exactly what causes this beyond "electromagnetic interference"

Interesting. I have never seen a vzw phone do this. Every att phone that came into my home used to that though

Maybe I'll ask WHAT speakers? Car, stereo, tv? How close to them? I have not noticed that? Oh, what OS and are you using or creating a mobile hotspot that might be generating some transmitting radio frequency?

Computer speakers in a 2.1 fashion, 3 to 6 feet away and everything off but nfc and cellular. The buzzing doesn't seem to be related to calls or texts. It also happens with wifi turned on.

I an running 10.0.2.1791. The speakers are Cyber Acoustics CA-3602. I have put ferrite chokes on the left and right and the subwoofer.

Oh, and the buzzing is intermittent, of course.

This is a common problem with 3G signals, but it isn't the speakers, it is the amplifiers. The ferrite beads are only going to be effective if the signal is entering by the leads, not likely due to the frequency. The signal is probably getting into some of the amplifier circuit traces. You can try keeping the phone away from the amplifiers, or see if you can set the phone to not use 3G.

Difficult to know. Your speakers are probably approved as a FCC Class B device. Which means:

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject
    to the following two conditions:
    1. This device may not cause harmful interference, and
    2. This device must accept any interference received, including
interference that may cause undesired operation.

    From this example notice: http://www.sceptre.com/pub/Manuals/LCD/X7G-NAGA6.pdf

Basically the speakers, monitors (any FCC Class B device) must be constructed so as to not cause harmful interference with radio communications, but if they are interfered with by radio communications it is too bad, try the suggestions included in the document. To build an electronic or digital device that is immune from radio interference is possible but often very expensive.

Well they def sell shielded speakers. I suppose there isn't a way to tell if the sounds are coming through the amplifier or over the wire? I might try to get rid of the 3g.
