Do you travel often because if not go to your the T-Mobile Website and check 4G coverage. Now if the coverage for 4G Looks solid in your city and surrounding suburbs go purchase a unlimited 70$ plan for one month and test it out especially where you go most. Put it on 4G and try your luck.

Verizon 4G is LTE (700 MHz I think??) -- not the same as TMO. Won't work at all that I know of.

As I said, I had a 9930 working on my Tmobile account. No 3g and no wifi calling.
Anyone looking to do this needs to be aware of the limitations.

Using an AT&T device on T-Mobile is a much better way to go. Another option is to sell the VZW and buy a T-Mobile z10.
That will get the best results.

The 9930 has CDMA (800 & 1900 Mhz), GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900), and UMTS (900, 2100).

The STL100-4 has CDMA (850 & 1900), WCDMA (900 & 2100), GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900), and LTE band 13 (700 Mhz).

T-Mobile uses GSM (1900 Mhz), UMTS-AWS (1700 Mhz), UMTS-PCS (1900Mhz), and LTE band 4 (1700Mhz). GSM on 1700Mhz is being refarmed to 1900Mhz to free up the 1700Mhz spectrum for LTE. They used to also use 850Mhz, but that died when the AT&T merger died, although they have roaming agreements in place.

So, for the most part, the hardware isn't there. Even though the 100-4 has GSM, it doesn't have UMTS. The only option is to connect via the 1900Mhz frequency, and that would only be 2G/EDGE.
