I have found that while it charges much faster it also drains much faster. It's probably my imagination but it seems like there is a relationship between the speed the juice goes in and comes out.

Probably always best to stick with stock unless the Z10 is using the same tech as Playbook.

A buddy of mine used his Playbook charger on his 9780 and now the battery is trash.

I ONLY use the PlayBook charger for my Z10. Can't imagine how long the one that comes with the Z10 would take to charge it.

I think the rapid charger for the Z10 will be similarly spec'd to the PB charger, just a different marketing name....

The playbook charger has higher mA output than the stock Z10 (which is the same charger as my old 9800). I also would use the playbook charger if I need a quick boost, but I tend to stick with the stock charger if possible.

The PlayBook charger is 700 mah while Z10 charger is 750 mah. That's why it will drain faster. CB has mentioned this in the past.

I was using the pb charger until I noticed it also drained faster, and I became concerned that this quick charging was damaging the battery.

If the pb charger is really better for the z10 battery then why don't z10's come with a pb charger

Think about it merely because of per unit cost. The Z10 charger is just a block. The PlayBook charger is much bigger and has a long cord.

My Playbook's charger is 1.8A, not 700mA.

Funny thing ...... a couple of times a pop-up message showed up on Z10 when I took it off the charger that says:
"you should use the charger than came with your device" ...... go figure.... my Z10 telling me which charger to use.

The power given by the PlayBook charger is about 4-5 watts whereas the z10 charger gives about 2-3 watts.

I think that using the PlayBook charger will damage the battery in the long run, but the battery draining faster isn't dependent on the charger, rather it depends on how battery drains during usage.

I've been using mine since Feb 5. Charges faster, better.
No problems with the battery.
No random reboots.
No funky os issues.

I'm with you on this one. Been using PB charger since day one, along with the premium car charger and haven't noticed any issues with the battery draining. Just yesterday used my Z10 all day while doing some plumbing repairs, using light and Web for parts look up and replacement instructions, and I just dipped below 20% at bedtime at 1am. Very satisfied with my PB charger.

The playbook charger is the best. Its so good i bought an extra pb charger. I use it on my z10, android phone, and battery bank.

Here's a screen shot of charging via the z10 charger..

The wattage here is able 2.5-3 watts...whereas PlayBook charger has 4-5 watts.
The rapid charger for PlayBook also does the same thing...
I wouldn't be surprised if BlackBerry releases a rapid charger for z10.!!
