I've been reading that using the PlayBook charger on the Z10 is not good for the battery. I was under the impression that the rapid charger was the same as the one that came with the PlayBook, so it should mot be an issue, but now that I read comments saying that the battery health is reduced by using it, I'm totally lost.

Opinions?

Can't say about the Z10 but as far as previous phones, the word is that the charger for the Playbook is TOO strong. Would probably overcharge. I personaly would not use it for a phone w/o hearing otherwise.

I use it on my Z10 and have no issues.

The PlayBook charger is the rapid charger for the Z10.

The "premium" charger for the Z10 is exactly the same as the PlayBook charger. I have one at work for a quick bump during the day if I want to top it off. 15 minutes and I'm good to go. I use the slower charger that came with the phone for my nightstand overnight charger.

Yeah... it works no issues. There are many posts about this. However, rapid charging does affect long term battery life!

I'm using Playbook charger for my Z10 and no problems so far. Previously I've heard that RIM announced that using PlayBook charger was OK with BlackBerry smartphones, so I guess it should still be OK with Z10.

It should be just fine. Let the phone software do it's job and regulate the charging I've used the PB charger on all my BlackBerry's with no problems or degraded battery issues.

It's nice that it charges the phone from nearly dead to full in no time at all

I was under the impression that all rapid chargers deplete battery health over the long term, even if certified safe for device. Personally i find the supplied charger quite fast anyway.

Charging quickly is not an issue. The PlayBook charger is not "Too Strong". The issue is the heat produced when using raid chargers. Lithium Ion batteries are smart and will stop charging if they get too hot but ideally you don't want any excessive heat. You can't over charge it or charge it too quickly. We learned from the exploding lithium ion batteries of the past...

I use a Playbook charger on my Z10. No problems so far. Charge the Z10 from 10% to 100% in about an hour.
The battery charge regulating circuit is built into the phone itself. You can charge from any charger with a micro USB connector, or from a laptop or computer with a mico USB cable.

Battery Guru say's health is at 97%.

That's all I've been using. At work or at home. Works great. I do wonder about the power in different countries though. As I've stated before I work overseas. Anyways, No issues.

I've been using my charger for my iPad and I haven't had any problems. Hopefully it stays that way if not just buy a new battery lol

completely safe. I charged my 9800 with it with no problems. still has original battery in it and works great. full charge lasts 2 full days

I use the 2 amp PlayBook charger for my z10 and have no problems. Was also using a spare 1.5 amp Nokia lumia 820 charger at work before the OS update, but don't need that one now

It would be great if Blackberry can confirm that I can use my PB's charger for my Z10. The rapid charger is quick to fill the charge.
