I lost my cable. I have a question - can any usb cable work out as long as charging pin is there? It is only 2$ In my hometown @usbcable.

What phone do you have? I tried using a generic USB cable in my z10 but every time I plugged it in I would get a message pop up saying that the cable I was using was not the original and to charge faster to use the original.

For $2, I would try it. If they are good sales people, they'd let you try it in the shop. Bring your adapter and give it a try. It will either show NO charging, charging or perhaps that message about 'wrong cable or charger."

I sometimes use my sister's usb cable which is of an Xperia phone, and it works perfect.
