I live in Canada so I'm asking this to the American CB members with BB10 devices...
Did you receive the travel advisory that the government has put in place because of possible terrorist activity? If you've been watching the news I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. The closing of middle east embassies etc....
I remember the American Z10s has the option to turn on and off "presidential alerts" or something. Did you guys receive this as an alert on your device?

    Here's the article:

Hmmm. Good question I hadn?t thought of. I got the notification from my news app, but nothing thru an official source. I would also be interested in what others say.

I think only some network offer that service and it has to do with notification about natural disasters, weather conditions and so on. I could be wrong.

I also live in Canada and find the presidential alerts interesting.

Cmon Stephen Harper offer the same service? Even if we are too 'boring' here in Canada, you can always use the service to broadcast BlackBerry sales!

I'm in the US on TMO but did not receive a Presidential Alert as this notice does not meet the requirements (tho I did receive notification from a news source that sounds like ZNN).

Bonus points to the first one who can name the TV reference!
