More than 1 year passed from the official BlackBerry 10 launch and release of Z10. And people still buy it. Someone - go showing their loyalty to Brand, someone - for the phone itself, it's performance, design and OS. I'm in the second group of people. And you know what, I love it. Z10 is my first "perfect" phone, and for me it would be very difficult to swap it for another model, even if it would be BlackBerry phone.
Looking at the modern mobile devices, they're getting more and more CPU cores, better GPU, some useless things (as fingerprint scanners, etc). But there is one thing I would like to have in my phone.
Imagine Z10, the real Z10, but maybe with different CPU (I'm not talking about the all-new Qualcomm Quad/Octa-core ones), better cameras, antennas, battery (a lot of people complain about it, but compared to many other models, mine Z10's battery is showing very good results). Imagine it would be WATERPROOF. Maybe BlackBerry should think about that, and not about how to release super big 5-6" screen smartphones. Better perfect classic than unstable new things.
Please, don't blame me for my words. It's just an idea, coming from ordinary user, but I think I'm not the only one, who fed up with the giant phablets, wanting to have 4.2-4.3" beautiful phone with beautiful OS BlackBerry 10.

I don't think I've read anywhere that the Z10 is being retired. Most likely there will be upgrades to it.

The Z20 and afterwards Z30 should have been upgraded versions of the Z10. I don't know who messed up the names so they aren't simple....

Big 5" should have remained A10

I agree, it would be great to have an upgrade to z10. Keep the design and size, introduce a unibody design that would reduce the phone a little bit and make it more firm getting rid of any sound the back cover makes in hand. add a 3200 mAh battery, a 1080p display, an infrared (like HTC n s4/5), wifi direct, improved cpu maybe? It's fast as it is. The CAMERA! (very important) a Sony partnership won't hurt.

As you say, reduce phone and put 3200 mAh battery inside is impossible.
Maybe do something with the CPU?
And seriously, do you need 1080p resolution on 4.2" screen? Useless.
    Improved camera would be perfect.

I think that the only "improvements" to the Z10 should be better battery life, have it compress data instead of push and add a kickstand to the back, like the HTC Evo had.

Push is a battery optimization - otherwise it's polling.
