    my z10 got smashed but insurance is giving me a new z10 replacement - catch - have to return old phone to get new one! how do I switches between two z10s and without having both together!

    Hi and welcome to Crackberry!

    Can you still plug your device to BlackBerry Link to do a backup? If so then you can do a restore on to the new device.

    I have done a back up now, tomorrow I return the old device and get the new one... do I restore the new device to this backup file?

    Usually they send the new one first, you do the data transfer and then return the faulty device. They will usually have a time frame for you to return the damaged device. Double check and see if this can be done. Otherwise like the previous post said. Backup and restore. I use BB Link and have had no problems.

    Like others have said, you usually get the new device before you have to send back the old device. As long as you can still plug the old device into your computer, and it recognizes it, use the device switch wizard in link.

    Just restore the backup from your old z10 to the new one when it arrives.
    As long as you have that backup file, you can restore to any z10 you want.

    You also might want to use the same BBID when registering the device.

    Yes, you would restore to that backup file...
