Unsupported media format
Issue recording video using my z10. I am receiving this error after I attempt to play a video that was just recorded. I've pulled the battery, reset and hard reset to no avail. I haven't been able to find an answer searching either, just unresolved forum threads. Seems strange to me that the phone you use to record refuses to play the file which was just recorded. Never had this issue before. I have the current update so I'm thinking maybe the SD card is pooped?

I have a 32g lexar. When I capture a video I just tap the screen. I have it saving to my media card. I don't see an option to pause or stop when the camera is taking video. Thanks for the response.

To stop recording, just tap again. I did some tests, and it doesn't matter if you stop or not. Swiping up and going to your apps stops the video recording (and you hear a beep). Try removing your SD card, then record a small video to the internal disk. If that works, then the problem is probably your SD card. As a matter of interest, what speed card do you have. You need a fast card for 1080p recording. I use a class 10 (uhc class 1).
If you can record internally, but not to SD, then maybe try to reformat your SD card. Backup anything from it first (using your favourite method), then go to settings->Storage and Access and select Format Media Card. Maybe it is just corrupt. Just remember to back up as this will delete everything from your card.
